Well if there is a team who could upset the Aussies, Japan would be one of them.

So are we now leaving the dark ages of the Batang Gilas program?

Is it still wrong to consider Japan as a threat against us in Asia?

Robert what happen to the smooth and effortless lebanon? Defeated by India..

I was shock too... I don't know India is that good in youth level... That's why I tell don't underestimate anybody..

Well, Youth programs are just pipeline who will be elevated to seniors level.. this batch i see none of them will make it... And look how many players who played in juniors level that now in current roster of our seniors team? Only 4 players out of 14... The rest didn't played any youth competitions but become better than those who played at youth competitions at the past...

just let Alpransis take over as Basketball Director. Maybe he can assign LA with JDV and Sean Chambers in the coaching staff of the Youth Teams. Triangle set. perfect continuity across all age groups

That means UP, Ateneo and DLSU might not lend their players to the national team.. unlike in PBA where Al Chua holds everything, He has no power in UAAP... He can't bully those bigwigs of those schools.. we need talents.. better hire a coach who has no identity of any schools in UAAP and NCAA... Chris Gavina is my choice if available...

Without a doubt our worst finish in a decade.

Fuck Joke Reyes always. He needs to go.

NepoBaby got dealt a good hand 2 years ago and still failed to take the best assembled teams in memory to the finals of U17 (Caellum, JHouse, Konov, GemaoZain) and U18 ( Amos, Kobe D, 7G, Pablo) . He shouldve been gone after those, but no, SBP brought him back and got extra lucky after Kieffer Alas et al went ballistic and somehow made it to the Worlds.

I will not be surprised if he will still be the coach of the Youth Teams after this

Never underestimate Alpransis' Power of Persuasion. He has connections all over: Dominicans, Jesuits. LS Brothers, even god-less politicians like UP's Remulla. And besides, the Monteverdes, Espirutus and all top sports agents wont dare not to grant him favors, or else..you know what will happen.

Didnt expect the game to be a blowout

With the way we played vs. Jordan & New Zealand, and with the way Japan almost beat China, I expected this outcome from our boys against Japan.

With this disastrous campaign in this tournament, I bet Joke Reyes will have a ready-made excuse - injuries to his 2 go-to-guy players in Andy Gemao & Kiefer Alas.

China just destroyed India.

lolz how did Lebanon lose to these guys?

Joke Reyes should just be a tissue paper vendor in a Quiapo moviehouse.

Omg, do they still give out something for tearjerkers in quiapo? During my mother's time, they gave away hankies in avenida, recto and quezon blvd theaters for crying time pinoy movies.

Or are the tissue paper for the soft porn tebaks movies? I havent walked around quiapo in 40+ years...

Jaoan isnt qualifyiing in u19 world but somehow you see there is progress on its players and the system..for us only world cup is key notwithstandimg development of all players

Again.. youth competitions are not the base of good basketball program... Here, there are many players who are better than the most of those in the current line up.. I think it's lucky for their batch that only 1 will crack to the seniors level... Maybe they are not under 18 years old, but guys like Femi Edu, Allen Liwag, Jared Bahay, etc... have higher chance to be in seniors level...

So Jordan will have their replacements, contrary what others said Jordan will have hard time to replace their current players.. most of them are shooters that for RHJ loves to be his teammates since his playstyle needs a kickout shooters around him... Like Lebanon, they are not done when guys like Ibrahim, Abu Hawas will retire....
