Next game against Jordan.

So Jordan actually beat Korea last U16 whom the Philippines also beat. The game against them might be challenging as they are also the host.

FIBA geoblocked the Philippines-Indonesia Lol.

I was able to watch it here, im at the East Coast. There were no commentaries, but the you could hear the PHL bench shouting instructions in Tagalog. All. Game. Long.

Batang Gilas U18 —- 75
Indonesia —- 48

Cabinolas with 19p & 8r

Lorenzo and Medin with 12p and 11p, respectively.

Not a good gauge as to how the team is because it’s Indonesia but I like what I’ve seen from our 6'4-6'5 guys, Cabinolas and Lorenzo.

We’re gonna need our shooting against Jordan and NZ.

Watching Jor-NZ atm and it seems like NZ is very beatable if we shut down their outside shooting.

In this edition of u18 I never see any guy as finessed, as skilled and as dominant as Mason Amos in u18, (even the kai sotto) wang zhelin batch.. too bad too bad that time..

Ka batch pa niya si hansen yaang and yuto kawashima

Jordan, historically hasn't figured well in youth level tournaments for perhaps the last 24 years or so. But in this edition of Asian U-18 tournament, Jordan is the host so perhaps the Jordanians have a better team & with good preparation.

If only we have Gemao or the big men combo of 6-7 Aries Borja & Lebron James Daep, I won't be so worried about Jordan & Qatar (which we will possibly face in the knockout game to qualify for the quarterfinals. Qatar itself is scary as well. They only have 2 good players pero solid ang laro ng 2 players na yun.

I actually believed that the Koreans tanked their game against Jordan in the U16 game to avoid Australia.

But after their game last night against NZL losing only by 9 pts, I think they are really good.

First heard of Cabonillas was in the SEABA tournament, did not know he is this good. I am getting updates from UAAP jrs but did not really hear his name at all.

Him and VJ Pre are the two main frontline of the baby tams alongside other 2 gilas youth members Burgos and Castillejos (SEABA).

whatever result we may get on this edition of the U18

those SBP Grandpas should wake up on the right side of the bed

"Change is Inevitable, Mr. Anderson" - Agent Smith

Hugo Weaving will always be one of my favorite all time character actor in hollywood alongside Robert Knepper aka T-Bag, Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins among others

that baritone voice still linger in my head, until now as Agent Smith

My thoughts on the Gilas-Indonesia game: Indonesia came out strong in the first quarter, well-prepared to face Batang Gilas. Gilas initially tried to replicate the strategies they used in SEABA, feeling out the game. However, Esperanza's right driving lane was effectively sealed off, preventing him from executing the DDO or penetrating the defense.

The second quarter was a different story. Gilas made key adjustments, aggressively applying the press and even running a triangle play, which disrupted Indonesia's defensive strategy. Cabonillas unexpectedly showcased his outside shooting, as did Drei Lorenzo. Medina continued his usual routine, sinking threes, and mid-range shots while using his long arms to swat several of Indonesia's wing attempts. Esperanza's all-around game was impressive. On the other hand, Velasquez, who replaced Andy, struggled and was hard to watch. That kid Esteban, though, showed great athleticism and reminds me a lot of Abadam.

Jordan has size on their side, but they seem to struggle with ball-handling. A quicker Batang Gilas would likely take advantage of that. I believe NZ is beatable as well.

A buzzer beater by Jordan to give them a 2 point lead at the half.

We really needed Andy Gemao.

We don’t have anyone to turn to if our offense shuts down.

As long as there is effort fine with me, i see good execution of plays.. still need to learn the gang reboundig thin, helpful when they go seniors, and sometimes in uaap/ncaa iths the FSA 's job to do

Both teams hoisting brick after brick in the 3rd quarter. Jordan just up by 5 coming into the 4th quarter.

So this is a gemao pomelo ball team.. ket them create and have shooters shoot..
