And from.what people is saying the best u18 bigs are coming frlm the perps boys(Daep and co.)

Why are these seyer national teams one-man bands? First, they die without alas. Now, they die without gemao. Teams built only for coaching lame excuses.

An nt is supposed to have 12 good players. The loss of an alas or a gemao should have been minimal if the remaining 10-11 players are any good. Unless, the useless team lives or dies with hero balling only.

Kaya nga may 12 at hindi 5 lang ang players, di ba?

Is the emergency replacement nathan velasquez the same small boy who is good at scoring zeros against decent fighting or even tall teams like japan, china and australia??? Mukhang malalim ang basurahan ni joke seyer.

This is a typical sickening father and son seyer team: many sub-sixfooters who cannot shoot 3s under pressure. Puro pang dribol lang. Tang*a. Maliit nga at pabigat sa depensa sa international-class tournaments, di pa maka perimeter scoring?

I actually noticed the same pathetic barangay mentality that handicaps other young teams even in the uaap. For instance, i noticed that only alarcon among the up maroon guards has the smooth stroke of a reliable sniper. This team will be vulnerable against teams that recruited killing machine shooting guards.

As a matter of survival principle for nt excellence purposes, anyone who is 6'4 and below must have both decent inside and outside shooting. I like kikiam and lopez precisely because they do major damage inside and outside the paint.

Ako nga nuong bata, pwedeng bumili at magsuot ng mamahaling levis jeans. Pero required akong maging disenteng emergency karpintero, tubero at electrician sa house repairs kahit maganda suot na pants. Excellence in national teams must be required.

To be fair no. 11 guy he was decent against japan and was decent against china thats why he was checked in the 3rd place game but they do suck in u17..

I hate Josh as much as you do, believe me, but you don't need to hate the replacement kid.

To be fair for him, he did some damage by scoring 17 pts and 10 pts against Korea and Japan respectively where it mattered the most enroute to a WC qualification.

That game against China and Australia was a mismatch from the physique of the players until the overall composition of the teams, something we can't do much about except changing the coach to atleast give a decent and better game against them.

But I am going to give props where it due because Josh Reyes actually beat China when he had Kai and AJ.

Right now, he does not have those same kind of players hence the hate because why the fuck did he stay after that U17 massacre.

I mean looking at the whole U16 tournament he was really decent, he could been more effective had there was a system and Josh was not the coach.

Pinoy baller fans use disgusting americanisms ln their posts whenever they dont understand anything.

I cannot possibly "hate" this kid, because i dont even know him. I have a kid who even studied in the same school.

It is his record that is pathetic. He neither has the talent nor athleticism to fight back against bigger players that will ALWAYS BE THERE FOREVER OUTSIDE MEDIOCRE ASEAN AND ASIAN TEAMS. IF HE IS SO GOOD, WHY WAS HE NOT MADE A FIRST SELECTION THEN?

That last u16/u17 was bad precisely because joke seyer keeps repeating they had "chemistry" but not the talents, size and athleticism. If they won with size using kai and aj, wouldnt a smart coach virtually spend all his time looking for usable bigs? Usable small boys are dime a dozen.

See, there is no "hate" also against joke seyer. His words and credentials are not any good. Almost ANY PINOY COLLEGE COACH CAN WIN A LOT OF U16/U17 ASEAN AND ASIAN SPOTS FOR THE SIMPLEST OF REASONS. There was never any need for an incompetent pinoy coach.

What are facts?? Sk and japan sends big tough hombres at senior level only. They rarely prioritize wins in the junior teams, which are typically too small too. This is why our junior nts do not have bad records against them, and have excellent results against indonesia, which has average height as low as our people.

The philippines is globally ranked 194th in male stature for 19 year olds, and certainly have some of the smallest people in the world. This means the basketball selection base is literally small.

Any pinoy nt coach therefore with half a brain will go for the best players with size, athleticism and reliable 2-way talents. This is not impossible as there are over 110 million pinoys to generate enough bigger skilled players. It is more the sheer laziness of not going for deep selection and smart training methods. Absolute proof of this laziness is the absence of near-100% excellence in dribbling under traffic, pressing, and escaping double teams, regardless of height. Ayan, pinoy coaching fault na malinaw na iyan, dahil excellence in dribbling is one of the vital minimum skills in basketball.

Look at it this way: me and my kids used to laugh at how idiotic the up maroons builds its basketball teams. Me and my ex-classmates used to eat out to celebrate whenever the maroons -- well known for being small, underskilled and just about puny -- come out with a win. For obvious reasons, we didnt eat out a lot.

Now, the maroons field teams bigger and stronger than most uaap teams. Their skills and performance are good too. Sporadic bad thinking discipline in shooting and passing are among its much fewer weaknesses. And they consistently win now. Basketball has no secret ingredients or systems anymore.

If the pathetic maroons can deep-select, upsize and upskill, why cant the pinoy national team -- and coaches -- not do so?

Sa marunong, maraming paraan. Sa bobo, maraming dahilan.

As warren buffett of the trillion-dollar business would put it: the first rule of investment (which include human baller resources) is not to lose in such investments. The second rule is to always remember the first.

How do you know that Japan dont bring their best players. They have Hachimura, Yuta in their roster in U16 and later. Look at their current roster do they have Yuta type of player in youth or their senior level

There are several big boys which they have used. I saw nothing special about their team play. So, how many hachimura boys and yuta won them asian championships??? If those were their best, then their best is not good enough. Which is what a pinoy junior nt will want to happen. And these big japanese boys certainly helped the cause of their team.

Ganyan pinoy. Mahilig tumingin sa paisa-isang player. Sino kinuha ni seyer na mga players na pangtapat sa mga hachimura types??? Lawyers typically shoot down argumentative talk because they dont bring clarity to a case resolution.

O ayan, ano ranking ng TEAM NG JAPAN boys? O korea? Parang mas mataas pa iran at pilipinas di ba?

Sa men's team, 21 ang japan at 34 ang philippines.

Many Qatari players who are playing here might be part of 2027 FIBA World cup roster that they will host...

Lebanese team are good too... There is a chance that Lebanon might make it to the final 4...

The # 4 Mohamed Ndao and # 10 Abdulla Mousa (brother of the projected 1st round NBA pick-Dayton commit Hamad Mousa) are most likely the ones included, I think both of them have already played for their Senior's team.

That Fadi son is soo good... He might be the next king Lebanese tiger after Wael Arakji... That's the beauty of having basketball as your 1st sport... The culture is there and they will not lacking of premiere players for their program... Him and Yousef Khayatt will be the best wing duo of Asian basketball after Rui and Yuta...

Wow.. Qatar will have a NBA prospect player? That will be a game changer for Qatari basketball and for middle east as well...

Atleast this is the Asian level so a 50-90pt blowout would not happen. i just hope this team is good enough to make the QFs/Semis

Yeah, he was a standout at the BWB in the US where Andy participated, I think that is where he was discovered but scouts.

He was actually talented for a Qatari standard, he already participated in the last U16 and U18 2022, although they got beaten by the Mason Amos-led batang gilas.

He could also play for this U18 tournament but did not know why he did not choose to. Well maybe because he already got in D1 basketball and he does not need to showcase his skills with scouts anymore.
