I think Allen Perez is a 6-7 kid from Adamson

Now everyone sees why Perez made it over the project Tumaneng. Coach Dave already posted here long time ago not to get excited and hyped over Tumaneng. As we can see in the last UAAP Jrs that Perez got more playing over Tumaneng.

I chalk this up to Levels. Many do not understand the concept of levels (although it really is difficult unless one has a reference point or experience it firsthand). They see players of the same height and think that's all there is to it, or see a prospect doing well in a video not understanding the level of the competition matters.

And most hypeman vloggers are guilty of this as well.

There’s a strong chance we won’t make it as the team isn’t very strong.

We made the U19 WC in 2018 because of Kai and Edu.

Yeah, I don’t think there has ever been a Philippine U18 team that made it to the U19 World Cup, except for Kai's batch.

I dislike a results based Gilas, I would rather Gilas youth be measured by how many players they elevate to the senior team.

Statistically speaking, the players who performed well in the Youth World Cup are often the ones who transition to the senior team, like Kai, Dave, and Carl. AJ would have also done well in the U19 World Cup if not for his injury.

In the U17 2014 team, it was Nieto who at least made some appearances for a Tab-led Gilas. As for the 2023 U17 team, Kiefer Alas could have done some damage against other teams if not for that unfortunate injury. Morales might have a chance if he improves his point guard skills, similar to Dwight Ramos. Ludovice could make a Gilas appearance when all of our high-caliber point guards are unavailable. Daja has good fundamentals as a big, but being 6'4" might not be enough.

So having good results while figuring out who will makes the senior team at the same time is possible.

From jmh, sporting chance, philstar.com.

"The only carryover from the FIBA U17 World Cup roster is 5-10 Joaquin Ludovice of UST. Others in the cast are 6-1 Andy Gemao of Royal Crown School, Toronto, 6-3 Earl Medina of Adamson, 6-8 Allen Perez of Adamson, 5-10 Mark Esperanza of Adamson, 6-5 Wilhelm Cabonilas of FEU, 6-5 Marc Burgos of FEU, 6-5 Charles Esteban of UST, 6-2 Carl Manding of UST, 6-5 Johnkurl Figueroa of NU, 6-4 Drei Lorenzo of UE and 5-11 Jericho Santos of Chaminade Prep School, Missouri."

The recent past roster chosen by seyer was definitely garbage, based on the complete overhaul of the nt. And this overhaul took only a couple of months! And only within metro manila schools. The pbs should have u16 and u18 teams from luzon, visayas and mindanao. You dont leave dumbf*ck coaches like seyer to build a deep-selection group like a national team.

And as will be eternally true, talent, athleticism and PER game capabilities are the ONLY SELECTION CRITERIA. "Chemistry" is a minor add-on, and was never a player selection criterion on this planet, except the seyers' planet.

If the seyers were hr managers, they will be asking employment candidates, "may pang chemistry ka ba"? Yes, that kind of moronic question, because the main hr question must be "what evidenced abilities do you have now that solves urgently necessary work priorities for our success?" See, if you ask the right questions, you have better chances of getting much more qualified people.

Well, all of the plays were designed for him, so this is not surprising. The team also had no reserves; they could have gotten some help from there.

It sucks because these circumstances could have been avoided if the team had a reliable system that wasn't just reliant on one player, as this causes fatigue to that player. It's similar to the Kiefer Alas incident.

I could live with the supposed major embarrassment instore for the Gilas U18 if it means that the national team could finally rid itself of the no talent nepotism cancers in joke and choke

Its no excuse to not have a shot of world cup with or without gemao (qf stint)..its just that too bad we wont showcase our best prospect in intl scouts( alas , gemao)

Disaster awaits this team in Jordan!!
I hope I'm wrong.

Shouldnt be the case as the teams system.is ddo..it will not be effective in this level but should be effective in asian..if josh reyes and the gang will play to win..

i will take the embarrassing losses this coming tournament if it means getting rid of that imbecile joke reyes.

So I take it we'll be bad again? Not much to get excited about in our recent youth teams.

Good thing the next main ball handler is Ludovice who played in the WC, atleast he might know some plays in the system, if there is.

Its just sucks because this might be Andy's chance to showcase his talent against much better opponents so he can bypass that another year in highschool if he gets an offer from an US NCAA DIV1 had he dominated this tournament.

Oh, so Nathan Velasquez who also played in the WC replaces Andy.

Might have a chance to qualify for WC if we get the 2nd place at our group then have the Qatar at QQF and Korea at QF route.

Why are these seyer national teams one-man bands? First, they die without alas. Now, they die without gemao. Teams built only for coaching lame excuses.

An nt is supposed to have 12 good players. The loss of an alas or a gemao should have been minimal if the remaining 10-11 players are any good. Unless, the useless team lives or dies with hero balling only.

Kaya nga may 12 at hindi 5 lang ang players, di ba?

Is the emergency replacement nathan velasquez the same small boy who is good at scoring zeros against decent fighting or even tall teams like japan, china and australia??? Mukhang malalim ang basurahan ni joke seyer.

This is a typical sickening father and son seyer team: many sub-sixfooters who cannot shoot 3s under pressure. Puro pang dribol lang. Tang*a. Maliit nga at pabigat sa depensa sa international-class tournaments, di pa maka perimeter scoring?

I actually noticed the same pathetic barangay mentality that handicaps other young teams even in the uaap. For instance, i noticed that only alarcon among the up maroon guards has the smooth stroke of a reliable sniper. This team will be vulnerable against teams that recruited killing machine shooting guards.

As a matter of survival principle for nt excellence purposes, anyone who is 6'4 and below must have both decent inside and outside shooting. I like kikiam and lopez precisely because they do major damage inside and outside the paint.

Ako nga nuong bata, pwedeng bumili at magsuot ng mamahaling levis jeans. Pero required akong maging disenteng emergency karpintero, tubero at electrician sa house repairs kahit maganda suot na pants. Excellence in national teams must be required.
