That Hunter kid is incredibly atrocious.
Then we have so many kids who could atleast replace 3 to 4 spots from the team if they are dead serious on the next tourney

so how can we get rid of the imbecile coach? This victory, unfortunately, will mask his utter incompetence.

Probably a petition to start to overhaul the coaching duties of the Youth Team,at least no more than 3 years even if said coach is very succesful.

wait for the formalities of SMC taking over SBP. they'll clean house and put their guys in all positions save for some where whoever is sitting can still work with them.
our hope, is they replace him with a better overall coach.

Cabonillas looks mobile. But to me Morales, Daja and Diao look to have superior length than the bigs here. Lorenzo has a big body but at 6’5 I think mobility is more important.

Hunter looks to have the length and hops. Is he homegrown? I did not see Medina again. But it seems the team was too dependent on Gemao. Often the play bogs down and it was more of Gemao looking for the cracks on the defense. Definitely not sustainable. And I think Gemao was played too much here. I get Josh wanted to secure the gold but he needs to develop sets that relies on Gemao’s athletic and strength advantage of this age group.

I saw a play without Gemao where the bigger player had a good look from 3 but opted to drive and kick for a worse look. I dont know if he wanted to run more time but generally basketball is a game of inches where teams generally match up well. If you get a good look from 3 you need to take it especially if you are not a good slasher.

Hopefully, we can recall Morales and Daja for the FIBA Asia U18. Even Diao for one of Lorenzo and Castillejos.

Only sure locks here should be Gemao, Medina, and Cabonilas. Maybe retain Esteban, Burgos, and one of Lorenzo and Castillejos so that we have depth at 4, and we can try Daja at 3.

What are the chances that they gonna have at least two players that stands at least 6'8?

Just thinking out load, maybe Josh is coaching for free. And SBP is not paying him.

In the states, it's called volunteering / community service. LOLZ

Huge possibility. At this point no longer hoping for Batang Gilas success as long as Josh Reyes is at helm.

I just want to see Andy Gemao ball out in FIBA Asia, bring us to the U19 World Cup perhaps.

I don't care if he becomes selfish or resort to stat padding just produce solid numbers consistently so he can make a case for a US NCAA D1 spot.

Huge disappointment if he ends up with UP Maroons. Guy is Stateside material.

I still hope they’d consider Coach Charles.

Guy has enough generational wealth and is more than capable compared to Joke.

but for this to happen Charles needs to resign from his Benilde Blazers head coaching job first.

no doubt Charles is fit but there might be conflict of interest

Correct, If we hire a current college coach, we might face a situation where some schools prohibit their players from joining the youth team, similar to what happened during the Pumaren and Altamirano era.

sir PBA,
cc: sir sroth,

getting coaches nowadays at the youth level is very onion nowadays.

because of the rampant "Pirates of the Caribbean".

as much as I want coach norman as the next one but I also realize he is actively affiliated to ADMU and SBU still.

I think it's really high time to have a covenant amongst those school stakeholders to avoid possible poaching.

paranoia are ain't cool.

There goes our chances in having James Sanderson getting fumble. Josh should not f this again and just call him for the U18.

If I was born and raised in US, Should I choose Gilas over US? Nah, I don't think so. Being part of US youth team means more stars for College recruitment.

for me personally, I don't mind the likes of JJ kid, Sanderson, Hepa among others played or will play in the official under tournament for as long as they've already acquired that PH docs.

I've already mentioned this before but in reality, wait, I ain't despaising nor downplaying the talent of those lads, they are blue chippers no doubt about that.

but with so many big fish in the vast pond of Uncle Sam in the 6'0 to 6'6 level, it's very hard to crack the final 12 in the Senior level.

very clear example is Jalen Green a true blue chipper and no. 2 pick but unfortunately will not crack the Senior level.

same narrative to Hepa and Dylan Harper.

I totally agree that DH is a lottery guy in the coming draft because of his obvious skillsets and IQ

but as I said there's a bountiful big fish out there in the East to West Coast.

We got a good group here, we might lost against the NZL especially that they are coming with their 4th place finish at U17 WC.

But still, being 2nd place means we face the 1st place of group B, which is either Iran or Sokor.

I just hope no upset from the host Jordan because that means facing China or Japan in knockout stage then Australia in QF.

So this means either China or Japan won't be going to the WC because of that Australia waiting in the QF.
