If only Kiefer Alas can play in the Asian U-18 Championship, he & Andy Gemao can form a solid 1-2 punch at the backcourt.

Yeah what could have been. Sprained ACL usually takes 6-8 months to heal so the Alas/Gemao tandem can be only seen if we will qualify for the U19 WC.

The ideal lineup for the U18 Asia Cup based on their tournament performance here in SEABA would be:

Gemao
Medina
Cabonillas
Ludovice
Lorenzo / Burgos / or any of the bigs.

Diao
Morales
Sanderson
Alas
(given healthy)
Daep
Borja
Daja

Hope Gemao stays in the US just abit more, just to experience NCAA if he can, or maybe he can offer himself to eurobasket moreover la liga basket

Cabonillas looks mobile. But to me Morales, Daja and Diao look to have superior length than the bigs here. Lorenzo has a big body but at 6’5 I think mobility is more important.

Hunter looks to have the length and hops. Is he homegrown? I did not see Medina again. But it seems the team was too dependent on Gemao. Often the play bogs down and it was more of Gemao looking for the cracks on the defense. Definitely not sustainable. And I think Gemao was played too much here. I get Josh wanted to secure the gold but he needs to develop sets that relies on Gemao’s athletic and strength advantage of this age group.

I saw a play without Gemao where the bigger player had a good look from 3 but opted to drive and kick for a worse look. I dont know if he wanted to run more time but generally basketball is a game of inches where teams generally match up well. If you get a good look from 3 you need to take it especially if you are not a good slasher.

Not acl for kieffer. Only 2-3 months sprained knee

So how long since he had been injured? Would he recover in time for the Asian U-18 tournament?

Was injured 2 days prior to the start of the tournament. He might not make it. If we reach u19 then he can play

Nope bro.
It was referring to Kiefer Alas.
That Spin article described Kiefer Alas as the younger brother of NLEX guard & fellow national team player Kevin Alas.

Ah stand corrected.. let's see but some says 2-3 months out..
