3rd PinoyLiga Collegiate Cup opens at the Alonte Sports Center in Binan, Laguna on April 6th

17th EcoOil FilOil Preseason Cup opens on May 11th. All NCAA and UAAP team As confirm their participation.

Looks like no csb for the pinoyliga cup. Most of the guys din that will play there, already played in the next man cup. So they'll prolly just focus on filoil and will join asiabasket in cebu.

Asiabasket setup is perfect for ateneo/CSB teams as it short pocket style tournament..

Yes, especially for csb who has been joining tournaments since january, they are playing both in pinoyliga next man cup and psl now, reaching the playoffs in both leagues so them playing there will reach up to atleast end of march. Will prolly get April off to recover and avoid injuries, then play again in both filoil and asiabasket who'll both start in may. Been hearing pa that the blazers will be having an overseas camp by late july/early august so schedule will still be tight.

As for ateneo, looking forward to see the young core finally play together, unfortunate that both ballungay and gomez both left early, but it would have prolly been for the best as it will give young guys more room to operate and grow together.

I've been off Philippine Basketball for a while. Is PCCL still a thing? How I wish PCCL can adopt an NBTC style tournament or NBTC merge with PCCL to do a college counterpart of the successful High School tournament.
They could even invite fil-am college players, semi pro fil-foreigners in other countries etc.

JC Bonzalida has made his collegiate debut for SBU in the Pinoyliga Cup earlier. He was listed under the name of Gabieta in the box scores. JC is still in Adamson HS. It goes to show how lax the rules in Pinoyliga are.

A team Miron told me that coaches yuri and nash agreed to let Bonzilla play that one time. We'll see if that will be Bonzis only apperance for this pinoyliga tourney.

Please post any pre season colleagiate league games here.. thank you

Ateneo reportedly forfeited their game vs NU in Pinoyliga.

CSB is not playing on opening day in the FilOil is surprising.

Lopez looked unstoppable, a little more work on those handles and he'll be the best slasher the philippines will ever see

Lopez has shown a lot of improvement lately and looks primed for a leap like KQ did last year. Di lang masyaso halata because he hasn’t been using social media for a while except for a few IG stories on his personal life.

Has his outside shooting improved?

I'm actually thinking of Lopez becoming like a bigger version of Calvin Abueva - not so skilled (outside shooting is highly doubtful) but makes up for it with high motor, energy, hustle & lakas ng loob.

Lopez' edge over Abueva are height & athleticism (Abueva is athletic too but not in the level of Lopez). But I think Abueva's edge over Lopez (at least for now) is ball handling.
