I think we should stop whining about players who could but didn't want to participate. We can just whine for the rest

Since even as a winner I would like to join the whining. I cannot help but think that without the Lorenzo Brown ridiculous travesty we would be probably European AND world champion now.

Actually, from perspective of Serbian team, basically all players can be very happy about their performances, some of them made a big leap in their game. But we must be whinning a little bit, that's how it goes :D

That's not whining, that's natural reaction. That's what you would do and everyone else. I bet you have thought countless times during this tournament how much Cancar and Muric would have been helpful for Slovenia in certain situations. It's not about discrediting the other team.

It's ok to miss players. I missed even Blazic, who's not exactly my favourite player, but probably the best Slovenian defender. But when you lose, it's not because of players that didn't play, but because of players who did. ( And maybe 3 persons in black. ) Btw. you should be grateful to Luka, for having great refereeing in Semis. ;)

Germany moves up to number 1 in Fiba’s World Rankings, right? Don’t see how the US moves up 1 spot when they didn’t beat one good team in the tournament.

If Germany were to ignite in terms of basketball, all the other countries in Europe would not stand a chance because of the financial superiority and the large population.

"Fortunately", however, the German press now is dominated by the news that the coach of the German national football team was fired after the 1:4 defeat against Japan. This press release was announced at the same time as the final second of the final match.

So everything remains the same in Europe....

Marko Guduric, what a loser, he never played good big game(F4) in Fener and now continues in NT.

Guduric might not be the best player, but he at least have courage to try something, where was Bogdan?

Classic DFB, ridiculous fuckers.

This German team beat in the last 12 months:

Slovenia (twice considering WC qualification), France, Lithuania, Greece, Australia, Latvia, USA, Serbia. It's very difficult we win gold next year in Paris, but I would like at least to meet Spain there and have a word with them

Now Pešić said - Bogdan was sick and shouldn't have played this game. Milutinov also played injured, barely played. Dobrić was injured. Plus 7-8 players missing - which is a lot - it's a lot.

I already explained that during the game vs Germany when they were shooting above 70% for 2FG in first half, I only thought of Lucic and Kalinic and how much better we could have played defense on the perimeter not allowing the space for so many drives with their physicality. Maybe we could have won with them but we certainly didnt lose becuase of them not playing. Germany was better and deserved to win.

Grateful for Luka's whinning, to be more precise. ;)

Annihilated by the MVP of the tournament.

Schroeder was never exactly lockdown defender and even if he was, you still can do a lot with screens. It looked to me that he simply didn't want to take responsibility in Q4.

Guduric might not be the best player, but he at least have courage to try something, where was Bogdan?

Bogdan did everything what he was suppossed to do. Used his gravity for open threes which we missed. Then, he stole the ball in crucial moment and waited to be triple teamed, but Guduric missed completely wide open three.

Sure he likes to whine, but with refereeing Serbia had, Brooks would be out in Q1 with nonstop holding Luka. But he somehow made only 2 Pfs in the match. He had 4 against Serbia early in 3rd playing with half of intensity.

Luka was cursing at Fiba representatives during the game. :D

Bogdan was doubled for the most time, it wasn't strict one on one defense. How do you think Serbia had all those open shots in the second half?

He wasn't doubled much in the 4th. He mostly didn't even have the ball, it was Avramovic, who was playing Iso. And even, if he was guarded well, Serbia could have had few screens and created shots for Bogdan, who's great off ball player too. But strangely he was mostly standing still in the corner. He was too passive in any case. How many open 3s has Serbia had in Q4? Not many.

First of all, thank you guys! Today might be the best sport-related day in my life. Major kudos to Serbia! Overcoming so many obstacles and still fighting for the World Cup Title till the end might be as much of a cinderella story as Germany and Latvia are praised to be. It was joyful to watch, how nicely the Serbian team congratulated our team right after the game, that was class. I was lacking class as aspected during the game, that's something I knew in advance, but after someone was accusing the refs of shipping us, I threw my principles away and started to spam this thread during the game. Calling Avramovic a clown, is not nice, that is for sure. I won't lose any sleep over though, as I can't stand players faking like this. Yes, I might lack some objectivity, and in this certain situation Schroeder made a dirty play creating contact with his leg, but to pretend to be kicked at the head lacks sportsmanship. At some point, maybe after I watched the game in relive without overboarding emotions, I will come back to discuss about the FIBA refs. Something has to be done. Until that, I will praise our complete team, our hidden heroes as Bonga and Voigtmann. Both played a complete game, offensively and defensively, I haven't seen this coming. Not sure what else I can contribute to this game, the stories after the win were way more beautiful than this great performance on the court. The interviews, the celebration of Coach Herbert and all players involved, even Kraemer, as a German you have to love this team. The chemistry is unique spoken of my German perspective, how they treat all the people from the media, the staff behind the team, how the players outside the rotation enjoy to be part of this team, it is a joy. Same as the interview of the parents of the Wagner brothers. Sooo modest and kind, no wonder Franz and Moe turned into super humble, reflective and nice human beings. F*cking Andy Obst and Thiemann who I have seen playing for Bambergs cooperational team in the third and second division, hugging each other right after the game, it gave me goosebumps. Thiemann was not even supposed to become a first divisional player in Germany, he is the result of worth ethic only. Obst was talented, but it was a long and difficult way for him to get on this level. During an internships some years ago I was able to watch him in practice every single day and I can say, its no coincidence he developed into some player receiving MVP chants. Always the first, always the last in practice. He is a great guy as well, making constantly fun of himself, being nice to everyone. This WC title is not special because of the outcome, its special because of the journey. As the parents of the Wagner brothers said, the golden medal is glittering nicely, but the thing what matters to them is the sparkle in their sons happy eyes. There is cinderella everywhere and I am going to enjoy this. I wish you all a great evening and thank you guys, for you nicely comments after the game.

Refs were good in Serbia-Canada game, allowing physical game but calling obvious fouls. Today's game was also fine in that sense, but Germany used their physicality better than Serbia did.
