Let's finish the tournament first before all of you concluded and rant all you want if failed to win Gold medal... This is preliminary round and they still have shot in semifinals, 3 wins away for Gold... All of you become toxic here... They badly needed all of support that they needed now...

I actually agree w/Robert on this one. Chill guys. It's become too dramatic

the thread is practically dead even in world cup qualifiers.. this adds life to ibn.. who would want a japeth aguilar in the world cup lineup or that version of cj perez its like shooting ourselves in the foot already..

It's not a far fetch possibility that some players are being stopped from leaving using " eligibility requirements. I'm advising someone who is in a similar predicament and despite overseas offers is being restrained on the basis of eligibility technicality to join the PBA draft instead..

Winning a gold won't erase the defeat against Cambodia from history. Choke will still be remembered for it no matter how many Golds he brings home. LOL

Which is why it's hard to support SBP/PBA. And yet Robert doesn't want "toxicity" against these selfish entities.

They deserve every ounce of ridicule and criticism because their skin is so thick, ego so big, that these so-called "toxicity" barely leaves a dent on them.

Unpopular Opinion pero we do have set plays.

The problem? Puro bagito lahat ang nasa roster kaya hirap silang i-run.

We had the benefit of Scottie, Malonzo, and Japeth being on the same team, so we didn't suffer chemistry-wise in the FIBA windows.

I don't think forming a separate Gilas team is the way to go. We need gradual buildup from the get go.

I was responding to your assumption of "ah, so he doesn't really want to play for RP, he is just not good enough". Do we have evidence on this

this discussion passed already but ill answer as you did reply in good faith, so will i. i said that because the discussion at that time is IF the requirement to be eligible would be passport and residency (3-5yrs) ONLY.

because JC lives in the US, he will be eligible to play there. but as someone pointed out (i tihnk greenarcher) he would probably not be used by USAB. ergo, will not be able to play any international ball. and I replied, he doesnt really want to play for RP. why? because if he did, he would move to the Philippines just to satisfy the residency requirement. which again someone (pretty sure its greenarcher) who said that JC will not do that as it will affect his NBA status.

so pasok sinabi ko, but maybe i should have used a period rather than a comma. "ah, so he doesn't really want to play for RP(because that means he needs to move and live in the Philippes). he is just not good enough (for USAB)".

there was. one if was that weave on top of the key. except Cambodia was fighting the screen and was able to keep in front of whoever they were defending. i dont know if there are options on that set because after 3-4 weaves Lastimosa\Newsome would either look for a shot of try to give it to the corner.
like you said, the team doesnt seem to have mastered it yet plus its evident they still lack chemistry.

B.Rosser perfect fit for this Brandon is a lemon lucky he had PBA for fallback, also lastimosa i thought he will be useful nagkamali ako mas crocs pa pala ang toh kina romeo, atleast terrence is somehow proven na naman haha

is BGR too good playing in the PBA? He didn’t have much impact in the seagames3x3 last year. He’s tall (baka magaling pa si reavis hehehe) and most of his shots are coming from the outside (when i watched him in the 3x3.)

Cant they just pay to apply for their own FIBA exceptions? Anyway if thats an issue then it shows the poor foresight of the BLeague to have there rules depend on a different entity.

Thailand without thailer is shooting 43 percent on threes..all the contenders for medal in sea games outside us have taken high volume of three pointers

They do you knew why roosevelt freaking adams and maverick ahanmisi got local nod, its because of mark dickel este their agents..

We need a new set of coaches for both women and men's teams.

Our system outright sucks.

He became 6th man of the year. So he really is able to be in US team. But he did play for us before he became a 6th man awardee in Asia Games. So his intention was to play with us not just because he is not capable.

Is this even true. Its like the fake news that PBA stop Abando from joining KBL by Silent killer. When in fact he was already signed to KBL

Why CTab who squad lose to Palestine, erase the defeat when they won the Silver in Asia Cup 2015.

Hard to gauge performance of a player in a thrash league haha

if what you're insinuating has any truth, yun yung root of the problem , "personal and commercial interest gaming the Philippines flawed eco system ". sige pa... continue as usual

This I say, the powers that be know everything that would be for the good of our national team & Phi basketball as a whole, its just that they aren't willing to make enough sacrifice becoz its their bested that they are only thinking. SBP people know that coach Tab is the right man for the job handling the Gilas team, but some people at SBp, perhaps Al Panlilio & Ricky Vargas don't like coach Tab. PBA people know that it would be a big help for the national team if they restructure the league's calendar so as to synchronize it with the FIBA calendar so that the top PBA players would be available for Gilas during FIBA tournaments. But PBA isn't willing to do it becoz PBA people think doing so will have an adverse effect on the league's profitability.

Exception applications can only be filled by a national federation, (this is not an individual application, but a federation application for a player to be made eligible to play for one's federation) requires National federation endorsement ..
b league isn't the only league that uses FIBA rules for classification of locals , rhe NZ NBL does as well, that's why im familar with the process as I've made applications on behalf of teams and BBNZ previously

B league didn't decide to use FIBA eligibility rules fo enhance Facilitation of players availability, but rather to have a robust process to regulate who is eligible

Hint, it would be a suprise if a player of Tuffin's level has no offers from Asian leagues

the one thing I would say rather than the coaches(Chot etc) , I believe it's the higher ups that really have derailed Philippine basketball.. Kind of really sad.. and to think there are not even really basketball people.
In any society or organization there are always bad people, the problem with the Philippines that differs witb other places , is there are no process and structures in place to mimize bad people form messing things up littierally with generational consequences..
