I agree u need to read alot of history books before your fantasy future projections would start making any sense

If men dont know history and isnt learning from it he has no chance guessing anything what will happen in the future

My prediction of 2021 NT that I made in 2018. Wasn't all that bad, specially if we have in mind 2022 roster. Only too much trust in Kulboka, Sirvydis and obviously Jogela. All other pieces are logical. IMO, Sedekerskis had to be in both 2021 and 2022 NTs. As well as Ulanovas, but he skipped. Jokubaitis developed stronger and faster than even I projected in 2018. Basically he was a starter in 2021 already.

Here's some fantasy, prediction game - 2021 EB team*:
PG Lekavicius (27), Jokubaitis (21)
SG Grigonis (27), Jogela (23), Sirvydis (21)
SF Ulanovas (29), Kulboka (23), Sedekerskis (23)
PF Sabonis (25) Kuzminskas (31)
C Valanciunas (29), Ehodas/Birutis (24)

Nevertheless I do hope to see Sirvydis making NT this summer (Sedekerskis to me is a lock), IMO. We shouldn't waste talent like that. He must be incorporated.

i dont remember seeing Jogela,Sirvydis,Kulboka,Sedekerskis,Echodas,Biruti s playing on 2021 Olympics team

So nobody of your predicted youngsters made the team ?

Only one generational tallent Jokubaitis did?

same pattern repeating

But doesnt matter now i again start predicting your horoscopes how 5 diffrent players 23 and younger will make NT in 2024

I didn't post it to impress you or to prove you wrong about something or anyone else. Simply wanted to share the perspective. It's really not easy to project 3 years ahead, let alone even one year sometimes get tricky. Last time you tried to project one year ahead you got like 3 players out of 12 :D Don't take it personally, IDC, and it's not competition...

You took it too lazy thinking I was projecting Olympic team back then in 2018 speaking about 2021. It had to be Eurobasket, only Covid changed that situation. That's why I included more young players as Sivydis, Jogela. Eurobasket is a good place to add more young talent. Also I do think that Maksvytis made a mistake not to even testing Sirvydis. We were not in a situation that we could actually ignore a player who can drop 16ppg in NBA Summer League. Maksvytis didn't know Sirvydis will be such a standout there, but later I think he regretted.

I wouldn't call Jokubaitis generational talent. Was Jasikevicius, Siskauskas, Macijauskas, Stombergas generational talents? Well, then we had 4 generational talents coming basically at the same time. If Jokubaitis is generational talent, there's many generational talents coming potentially, and even one super generational talent :D

I dont see ltu 19-20 old kids who plays ok in euroleague like Jokubaitis did at that age.

You see 4 such new ltu tallent that at age 19-20 can play ok in euroleague ?? wow  we gonna win olympic medal in 2028 if that true :)

Players that was ready at 20 old age help men NT and was euroleague level players at 20 in last 10 years it was 3 super tallents

Valanciunas,Sabonis,Jokubaitis that the list,i call them generational ltu tallents.

Next candidate for that is Buzelis.

I agree. I'd also like to see Arnoldas Kulboka, Matas Jogėla, Martynas Varnas and Donatas Tarolis in camp competing for positions this summer.

(Sedekerskis to me is a lock), IMO. We shouldn't waste talent like that. He must be incorporated.

I agree that Tadas Sedekerskis is likely to make the team this year but there's no way he was ready in 2021 and 2022. He showed up tentative and afraid of making mistakes in camp.

:(

Dude, you're going nuts with Jokubaitis. One day he doesn't have scoring for you and you just hope that he will become good facilitator, next day he's super talent, top 3 of all time :D Only you can be so lost here :) So now to you Jokubaitis is a tier above Karnisovas, Jasikevicius, Siskauskas, Macijauskas, Stombergas right? And off course 00s golden generation is freakin' poor case they didn't have a single generational talent...:D Dude, if such non-generational talents a la Jasikevicius, Siskauskas, Macijauskas will ripe to help generational super talent Jokubaitis, I'm all fine :D

Poor Sarunas Marciulionis...just a scrubby late bloomer, not a super talent...:D

Dinosour expert

Im talking about real tallents shown on the floor by at 20 not your theoriticals fantasies made in your head with millions iffs and buts about your beloved kids

Tell me who shown more by age 22-23 on highest levels not including Valanciunas and Sabonis in 1990-2002 born kids?

Why are you bringing 1970 and 1980 born players? they have nothing to do with last 10 years of ltu basketball. Where i said even single word about Karnisovas,Macijauskads and so on? Stop putting words in my mouth and stop chanching topic

We are talking about best ltu tallents born in 1990-2002 now.

23 old Jokubaitis vs best fiba guards of 26-32 age will be nothing special in 2023-2024

Jokubaitis at 23 old versus all other lithuanian tallents under 23 players is fantastic tallent.

Do you understand diffrence or is too difficult for you?

OMG, you're so lost and your brain works so slowly...

You yourself literally brought LTU history into context, saying only A. Sabonis, Valanciunas and Jokubaitis played at the high level as 19-20yo. Next you implicated that since there's no other 19-20yo guys who are at this level, we are not winning big things in the future which is a silly statement since all 00s were not EL players at this age, but nevertheless it happened to be one of the deepest and best NTs ever. Do you understand that all players develop differently? The same Jokubaitis was barely a standout among U16. Actually 15yo Murauskas was more dominant in U16 than 16yo Jokubaitis in U16. Do you understand that while NBA drafts where millions are rolling is all about ifs and buts? Is Wemby a trash that he struggled in NBA Summer League at first, is he is just a horoscope? He never dominated EL...

Dude, you're so lost...Arvydas Sabonis as the only one true generational talent (by literal usage of the term) was at completely different level at 18-20 than Jokubaitis. It's not even comparable.

I said Valanciunas,Sabonis,Jokubaitis was only 3 players in last 10 years who was ready to help NT at age of 20

And thats why im calling them ltu generational tallents of last 10 years !

dinosour exopert once again got lost

I didnt made a single word about Arvydas Sabonis dude, i was talking about his son :D

I get that misreading can happen all that, but how person even imagines that somebody who follows basketball closely could even think

that Jokubaitis tallent is better than Marciulionis,Kleiza,Karnisovas,Macijauskas,Siskaus kas tallents ?

Just wow... and he says my brain work slowly ,when he himself needed 30minutes to figured what i was saying

You called Jokubaitis super talent...And you indicated that since we have no others 19-20yo playing strong in EL, we are screwed when it comes to our chances to win something big which is nonsense. As I said 00s generation studs played at lower level at this age and didn't have a chance to make NT being 20yo (case NT was much more talented back then), but it doesn't matter long term.

Now about that being a player who can "help NT at the age of 20yo". Mantas Kalnietis in 2006 helped NT more than Valanciunas in 2012 or Sabonis 2016. Or they were on the same meh level. Actually in 2006 Pocius was dropping 20ppg in U20 and was worthy more than Kalnietis to receive the spot, but Kalnietis made it only because of the lack of PGs. My point is that there were plenty of players who could make the same or similar impact as 20yo Sabonis, JV (actually Jokubaitis in 2021 was better than Sabonis and JV as he was averaging 9ppg and 10.3eff in Olympic Qualification Tornament). If you think that 20yo Siskauskas, Macijauskas or even Jasikevicius (even though he's more of a late bloomer relatively) couldn't provide such impact for the NT at that age, you're wrong. Simply 2000 NT was too stacked for young Macijauskas to make the team, but given a chance he could mess around maybe more impressively than these "generational talents". And it's not only about 00's studs. Iggy Brazdeikis in 2019/2020 Summer League was dropping 18ppg. That 20yo Iggy basically already had what he showed as 23yo becoming one of key scorers of EB 2022, just to a lesser extent. In other words, Brazdeikis could very well be in the NT and show some glimpse of promise as 20yo, just as Valanciunas and Sabonis did. None of those 2 were legitimate and reliable players as 20yo. They barely made impact. Again, when we speak about such talents we should speak about them as elite prospects, not generational talents. Jokubaitis stands out in terms of his decision making and early maturity in terms of mentality, but it doesn't mean that 20yo Brazdeikis couldn't provide some glimpses of promise, or let's say next summer Murauskas wouldn't, or in few years Jakucionis, Indrusaitis wouldn't. The same Rubstavicius this year as a 20yo showed some strides of scoring in NT in FIBA windows as 20yo, dropping 12pts in 16min. against Hungary. I'm not even talking about Buzelis who actually might be true generational talent, not simply elite prospect.

The key here which makes your statement very silly - the fact that a player makes NT early doesn't make him the best long term. JV made NT at 19, Sabonis later, but he exactly became better player. Players as Rubstavicius, Murauskas may end up being better players in their prime than Jokubaitis. Some players who are not even in the radar now can become better than all of them.

And, lastly - so far we had only one generational talent (leaving aside Paulauskas) and it's Arvydas Sabonis. He was elite at the age of 18-20. Not an elite prospect, but elite player already. The leader.

that Jokubaitis tallent is better than Marciulionis,Kleiza,Karnisovas,Macijauskas,Siskaus kas tallents ?

The point is that we can compare players only in different stages and when we make historical call about their level we compare their prime years (f.e. Arvydas Sabonis case there's a good chance that being 20yo he was better than 29 by the way, 2 ways athletic freak with all the skills, while later he became very slow and heavy).

My point is that there is little doubt 19-20yo Jokubaitis was better than Marciulionis. Marciulions was wild and needed time. Even as 24yo Marciulionis playing for Statyba, already dominant scoring wise, didn't have the decision making of Jokubaitis at that age. There's no freakin' way 19-20yo Kleiza could be anywhere close EL :D He was a mess. Talented mess. Even at the age of 22yo he was complete mess in the NT, chucking machine. Only as 23yo he already seemed usable for the NT. So I would claim that 19-20yo Jokubaitis was much more ready and better player at high level than Marciulionis and Kleiza. That doesn't mean however that Jokubaitis has higher ceiling than these 2, I actually think contrary.

Macijauskas and Siskauskas however showed a lot of intelligence and maturity early on just as Jokubaitis. So it's all relative, but Jokubaitis is on the same tier with 00s greats as Saras, Siska, Macas generally.

Thats with 7 of top 12 players already out and its seems that there can be more declines

Federation needed to put candidate list on monday, but with some players not willing to give answers so they will put list on wednesday maybe

In 30 years i never saw so manny declines and that list can become even bigger just wow...

Well done Gedvilas and Balciunas so lets send student u-25 team to world cup

Suddenly Marekas Blaževičius, Lukas Uleckas, Arnoldas Kulboka, Arnas Beručka ir Mantas Rubštavičius and Tubelis wont come to Songaila students camp from list that was announced.

Songaila will work with 6-7 young players and will play game vs Jordania also using 7 players ?

Im still dont get what is happening that ltu players i running away from NT camp like it would be war zone

One summer with new federation people and players dont wanna comeback what the hell is happening, looks like total chaos

Could be one summer issue, could be changing times. Kulboka declined invitation earlier, Tubelis was expected not to come, Rubstaviciis mentioned he has individual program and it makes sense before Australia, Butka joined U20 and Berucka students NT, so all these don't come as surprise. But to me doest make sense that Giedraitis is in reserve NT and there's no Velicka. No biggie though. Messy summer, many players pre-occupied with individual development or resting. Next summer maybe there won't be absences.

so what the point of that student camp with 7 players? They can even play 5 vs 5 normal basketball

So maybe before putting names in media and creating new summer camp in May could federation people call players and asked of their summer plans?

No wonder best players isnt comming, new federation arent able to convince even talented kids to come

What the reason a scrub Uleckas has is pretty interesting though. He's waisting his once a life time opportunity.

Obviously there will be more players, just basketnews.lt doesn't the names, only Giedraitis and Maldunas.

Did anybody say that main and reserve team rosters are seperate? Kulboka and some others could be going straight to main camp

Idea was that 2-4 best players from student will join Men camp

How it looks now that student camp will have 7 real tallents and 5 will come from streets just to have numbers in bodies ( camp start in 2 days)

NT camp even worse situation 7 top players already out and couple more dont give commitment to play

By this point i wouldnt be suprised that all 7 will be called from students camp and Balciunas will tell stories with poker face in media how they are more hungry and more motivated
