We can only conclude that glorious 1992 generation generated only 2 long term pieces - Valanciunas and Butkevicius.

That's all...Others winners and underperformers.

Its 3 pieces. That Ulanovas is selfish dude that it doesnt take away that he objectively is top 10 ltu player right now.

3 top 10 players from same year its fantastic result.

Goodluck finding one year where they have more than 3 in top 10 ltu players list .

Same generation is not just players who is born in that on year.It players group who is 3-4 years in age diffrence and is winning players at same time

.Jasikevicius,Kaukenas,Siskauskas,Brothers,Macijau skas they are same generation born in 1976-1980

Curent top 10 ltu players

1.Sabonis 1996
2.Valanciunas 1992
3.Grigonis 1994
4.Ulanovas 1992
5.Jokubaitis 2000
6.Butkevicius 1992
7.Brazdeikis 1999

after that is debatable and not so clear who is 8,9 or 10th best. Non counting 1992 which age year have atleast 2 players in top 10?

No, I only concerned with NT at this point. R. Giedraitis is the best EL player statistically, but he has been trash in NT. Ulanovas only had mediocre 2017 and 2019 performances, not exactly long term piece. Only JV and now Butkevicius (2019, 2021, 2022 and about to play in 2023) earned respect and love.

More like:

Sabonis,
Valanciunas,
Grigonis/Jokubaitis

and everyone else

that's the hierarchy today

All im saying it sounds blind hating to trash ltu most productive year in top 10 players and won most kids medals

Even looking a NT players i still dont see better year.

Which year in 1990-2000 decade gave more tallents to NT than 1992?

No-one is trashing. I wrote sincerely that this generation is glorious. 4 freakin' gold medals. Best LTU youth NT ever. Just saying that relatively the outcome and transition to the senior NT has been disappointed. FOA, JV didn't turn out to be absolute monster as many people hoped (including me). He looked transcendent with his light legs and athletic, aware skill in 2011, but later became traditional lumberjack. And second most impactful player after JV is Butkevicius. To me it's disappointing. No medals came from this generation. 2015 was still more about Maciulis, Kalnietis.

No doubt it will be hard to repeat what 1992 generation did at U-level. But 2006 generation with Jakucionis, Indusaitis, Laurencikas (and others) have a shot. I don't know if they can take down USA in U19, but it's not entirely off possibility. JV's length and skill at youth level was relentless. USA bigs in U19 looked like puppies.

I thought Domas already did his surgery. But no one month after season ended he and his staff trying to heal hand without surgery.

Problem now if surgery will be needed in middle of june he definetely will be out from NT.

No indication that the surgery will be needed. More it's about the timing when the thumb will completely heal naturally. IMO, that's good news. He doesn't say no. He says I'm there if healthy.

If we pack Jokubaitis, Brazdeikis (better body language yesterday), Butkevicius, Sedekerskis, Sabonis we still have a solid all EL starting line-up + All NBA Sabonis. And there's Valanciunas coming from the bench as the key second line-up piece.

We would still have a solid team in this case.

After 3 months playing with broken bone in hand, its high possibility to damaging it more playing contact sport and healing naturally can take forever after that and nba organisation wont allow his star player play if he isnt healed like 120%

I would rather hear he did surgery in may and by middle july it was time to do all rehab

Now if naturally healing wont work he is done for summer

Normantas may not look sexy, but if Brazdeikis is out, he's top-12, honest minutes of defense from bench material

Hopefully semifinals loss will change Giedraitis' decision

Worst case starting 5 material: 5 Valanciunas, 4/3 Kuzminskas, 3/2 Butkevicius, 1 Jokubaitis and 4 Sedekerskis/ 2 Dimša

This roster is not top 8 material

Who gonna score in 2 pts diffrence game endings in last 3 min?

In 2022 coaches went to Grigonis and Brazdeikis it still didnt worked , but in 2023 take 2 best LTU isolations scorers from 2022 team its simply looks very problematic

Yes, in that case he's most likely in. He may make it even if Brazdeikis in. All I'm saying his defence is slightly overrated. F.e. compared to such players as Dimsa, D. Giedraitis (not even mentioning Butkevicius) Normantas makes more mistakes reading the defence and more mental mistakes (tends to be too excited). In other words his ball game IQ is not as high. Also his lateral quickness is worse than these guys.

On the positive side, Normantas has sturdy body which allows him to stay even with 3s pretty well. And he's cheeky offensively. If he gets going he can bring offensive sparkle. But that comes once in three games essentially. That was his LKL playoffs campaign.

I feel like Maksvytis may have a hard time choosing between Normantas, D. Giedraitis, M. Rubstavicius, knowing how fast Rubstavicius is progressing. But this summer Normantas is more ready than Rubstavicius. In such tournaments defence really matters and Rubstavicius still needs to get stronger. So far Rubstavicius is slightly more efficient in LKL playoffs than Normantas.

I see Jokubaitis, Brazdeikis, Dimsa as locks and D. Giedraitis, M. Normantas as main candidates for guards section. (Marciulionis and Rubstavicius as candidates to be taken with a little credit looking for the future more).

PS: I see Jokubaitis, Brazdeikis, Dimsa, Butkevicius as main guards generally. Butkevicius will be used at 2 a lot under such circumstances.

Current betting odds to win the 2023 FIBA World Cup:

FRA +1100
AUS +1100
ESP +1200
CAN +1300
SER +1600
SLO +1600
GRE +2700
GER +4200
ITA +5500

international bookies dont see ltu even in top 10 and thats with Sabonis not confirming that he wont play

its seems next decade will be if LTU NT plays 1/4 makes top8 its good tournament

According to O, Dangau! podcast (somehow missed any other sources) Eimantas Bendžius returns to the NT. Does he has a spot? I have big doubts. On other hand, another forward who can shoot which is good fit for NT if Sabonis comes. I would actually try to build around more defensively aware players instead of going with soft shooters, but that's one of the ways to construct NT. Put guys like Kuzminskas, Bendzius, Sirvydis, Dimsa around Sabonis and see what happens. If threes falling, it may look very well offensively.

Grigonis,Ulanovas,Lekavicius,Giedraitis is out

According to Pakenas that have his inside sources says that

Sabonis,Brazdeikis,Gudaitis also more out than in from what he is hearing

Federation president Gedvilas comes to media and telling people : Players that will not come this summers isn't effecting NT results :)

Your Soviet mentality is distorting reality. His excellence didn't say that. He said that absence of Sabonis theoretically may affect results a tiny little bit, maybe

if talking about soviet mindset is hard to find more clear soviet mindset example than Lithuanian basketball federation president Gedvilas

He talks non stop his dream talks when he gets microphone that even his partner in crime Balciunas rolls his eyes sometimes sitting near him :)
