Thanks bro.

La Salle seems real. I think man for man, La Salle has an edge over Ateneo.

I expect nothing less than a ring for La Salle. Just too much talent to not win it all. UP is also very loaded.

This Ateneo team is probably the weakest under Tab. Or the same level as his first year with them.

It's the pre-season, nothing to worry about for Ateneo fans. Ateneo, under Tab, has notoriously been bad yearly in the pre-season as they prioritize repetitions. I'd be more worried if they played like this in the first round of the UAAP (like last season as that didn't have the benefit of a long prep prior to the start of the season).

Milke wasn't simply dunking, or dunking on guards, the guy was dunking on centers a few inches taller than him, and these were not dunker weakside dunks, this were iso going over a blocking rim protector, it's not far fetch to say Mike is the most athletic local legit big (at least 6' 7)

Yeah. Tab's Ateneo are pretty much a threat every single time. Different context, but they're defending champs, and they are contenders. Doesn't matter how strong or weak the roster is.

I think Ateneo's last team is still weaker, based on the fact that the only main loss was BJ Andrade, but got Demisana and Amos incoming.

Short of it: guard rotation weaker, but big rotation much better

This is post koaume ateneo right, and we all knew Ateneo changed their styule of play in the middle of the season..

while mike's ball handling is not really anything to write home about, i've noticed that's he's been given much more opportunities to drive from the top of the key. looks like he's being given more freedom under topex.

wait, are we forgetting ateneo also lost ange, daves, and dave i??

definitely the weakest. seems like most of their incoming filfor recruits won't be contributing this season. it's DLSU, UP... large gap.. the rest.

Looks like Tab has to outcoach rivals to defend title.

considering how ateneo was a jd cagulangan miss away from getting another 5 peat, i think it's about time for the rebuilding phase to start.

Smh...of all the people to forget. Ange Kouame.

Ok, I can stand corrected, though I would argue that Daves and Ildefonso have possible good replacements among the recruits/returnees. Also, I wouldn't say the current admu team is at the level of Tabs first admu team either; at worst, maybe a step above

Yeah, in yesterday's game Mike looked like a young Kelly Williams dunking....

Like in preseasons past, it is not accurate to gauge ADMU just yet. They don't like showing their cards in preseason. The biggest loss is really Kouame. Obasa and Godslove although long and athletic are really raw and lack experience. How fast they improve will be crucial.

The rest of the roster losses I think will be compensated by a more experienced Padrigao (who people forget was an mvp candidate), Koon and Balunggay given bigger roles plus Amos. Gomez and Quitevis are also battle-tested. It will be a wild card to see if Padrigao can take another leap to follow-up last year's performance, and how quickly Amos develops.

Right now, Tab is experimenting on who the supporting cast will be to add to those known pieces.

That being said, you can also consider that they are in rebuilding mode at the same time because of the many incoming 18-19 year olds.

I just hope that this is already Mike Philipps' last season with La Salle & he turns pro next year. I think its time for him to go to the next level to really maximize his development. I think his body is aching for tougher competition so to speak.

You realize the SBP/PBA can stop this from happening , they are the gate keepers for Philipps to be eligible for b -league and even PBA. and obviously they will decide on what's serves their commercial interest the most, ( who cares about interest of national team )

how much did it take to get him to DLSU? lets be real here, a lot, not all, of players cost money to get into a school program and more to keep them. i wont go outside free tuition, boarding, food, and daily allowances. some would have cost to bring them over ether from other cities, provinces, or another country.

i dont know of any school who shouldered all the expenses. these are covered by boosters. so, what is the boosters expectation when they recruited the players? thats general statement, so answer would vary. but to tie up to M Phillips, whoever paid, is s\he happy with the ROI?
