Should created earlier. Anyway. K quiam with 6 3 pointers. 71-63 lead by DLSU end of 3rd

Best shooting game from KQ from the outside.

Lousy start but strong finish from DLSU.

Lebron Lopez a non factor today but Torculas was decent.

90-83 win by DLSU

Quiambao with 7 3 pointers 21 pts 7 rebounds 4 assists
Diouf with 23 pts and 15 rebounds
M. Phillips 22 pts 14 rebounds

Nelle got 14 assists but shot 1 from 8 from downtown. Nonoy misfiring as usual, 2-11 from 3.

Estacio, Melencio, Buensalida playing today after the starters jumped the gun on UE.

Nice to see KQ finally polishing that outside shot which he didnt have last year.

Is Nelle a good national team prospect?
I think Nelle is some sort of a traditional pass-first point guard.

KQ should be the future NT PG. He is the best passer in this generation.

The way he's trained to move like a guard, kinda nice. It fits his size more, as he's just around 6'5".

And the passing and improved shooting will be key. Help defense is good too.

KQ is only now transitioning his body to something that can play wing. Shot hopefully remains consistent. Potential is there obviously.

Hope he develops his ball-handling and ball protection skills, but the potential is definitely there. It's really crazy how much KQ has improved since his early days in NU when he was just an athletic, undersized (or right-sized in HS lol) big man. From adding the shooting, then slashing, then showcasing his passing skills, and now a better in between scoring game, I wouldn't put it past him to develop his ball handling as well.

could be the 6'5/6'6 point guard of the future if he gets that ball handling good enough

KQ was the main man in his high school team that had Carl Tamayo, etc.

He has large hands which gave him the tendency to do his one-handed shots (and also one-hand passes). At this level it's not that effective anymore so good thing he has worked on his proper shooting form. He can be a point forward because he has excellent "feel for the game" vision and unselfishness. Hopefully, Coach Topex puts the ball more in his hands because Nelle and Nonoy are really more of scoring guards.

He's perfect for position-less basketball. Imagine 4 players around his size with the same skill-set plus one-big. Everyone with length plus passing and shooting ability.

Phillips ability to push up the ball via dribble is underrated, he's actually not bad in dribbling with pace ...I mean for a big ..

I didn't notice him doing this before. Maybe something that Topex wants him to do. He is very agile and seems to be well coordinated. I don't mind him doing this.

That's just too ambitious bro. Being a point guard requires exceptional dribbling or ball handling skills. I don't think Quiambao would be able to reach that level. Even a big man with very good ball handling skills as a Mon Fernandez would be hard pressed to transition into a point guard during his early 20's. Quiambao ending up playing as a 2-guard is already a stretch in my opinion.

A more realistic expectation is Quiambao playing as a 3.

Which is something a Mark Pingris wasn't known for. To think that Pingris is about 3 inches shorter than Mike Philipps.

In a run-and-gun game, such ability would be very valuable.
