Coach Codera is really a good skill coach. I don't know why SBP doesn't send players to train with him; he basically throws himself into them and is very vocal about how he likes to train our players. Lopez, Chiu, Demisina, Caelum, and others can really learn a lot from him. But it looks like SBP is uninterested.

Too much Politics + Nepotism + Bureaucratic = Toxicity that’s SBP for you hence no grassroots development to speak of, an NSA run by corporate minded people who had little knowledge about FIBA basketball but rather more focus on Marketing, Endorsement, Sales, Gimmickry, Commercialization, Fashion and Entertainment and less focus on the word Competitiveness.

How do they play? Thanks!

Wagan and Ludovice are a really good backcourt tandem. Watched most of them on the Cocolife team this summer. Ram Reyes used to dominate the age group competitions three years ago but unfortunately topped out at 6'0 and an estimated and slimmed down 260lbs++, Ples is a transferee from the south schools, his dad runs the Throwdown Basketball League, mobile and thin 6'4 guy. Nico Lorenzo is a solid 6'5 250lb center who is physical. Has the makings of a Wilmer Ong type.

Any update for the two 13 years old 6'6 and 6'8 kids and I hope they are improving and getting better

Upon checking the the official FIBA calendar next year I haven't read nor seen that their would be a FIBA U16 tourney both for men and girls except for FIBA Womens Asia Cup to be held on July 16-23, 2023 with no official venue yet.

Check the Batang PBA competitions. There are some born 2010 players who are above 6 feet.

6'8 Andrewil Yap (2009) plays for NLEX in the 14U division and they will face off against Purefoods Titans / RP Basketball Club in the semifinals. In the other bracket, Cavitex (Gov. Delta / Pampanga) plays against Blackwater Red President. The winners of these two games will play for the 14u championship.

2023 FIBA U16 Asia Championship will be held in Doha, Qatar, on 17-24 September.

I hope all of us had already move on the JJ kid storyline, the kid deserved to be in that line-up. Besides coach Pat and his coaching staff may somehow convince and tap his younger sister to play for the coming FIBA Asia U16.

If only SBP knows how to take some advantage as far as tapping the best talent in youth division, I think contacting Vyc Miller and family to somehow arrange some meeting if they are interested to be part of the Gilas program now that the kid wasn’t selected on the latest US under-16 tourney. Same with Dylan Harper and his family..at least Jayden Harper was convinced to come over and played from this year’s NBTC tourney and show the lad what is Philippine basketball is all about, hoping he already gotten his PH Passport days after(?) his 16[SUP]th[/SUP] birthday.

With school year 2022-23 comes to an end in the coming weeks I hope the likes of FIlam Nation Select of coach Alex Cabaggie and some our kababayans from the States may sponsor those kids and family to come visit the country and convince them to watch some games of the World Cup this coming August. As for the SBP, I think if they drumming up that first day matches at the Phil Arena I think this is the best opportunity to market the event to our kababayans in the States to come visit the countrt, certainly with the help of the Dept. of Tourism they could somehow arrange some very enticing package. If they are seriously enough to fill the rafters of the Arena and broke the old record then I think this is a good marketing strategy..diba Mr. Al Panlilio and Mr. Ricky Vargas kasi yan naman talaga specialty nyo eh.

I hope we have new discovery and potential young player this Years U16.

all the discoveries will go to waste with that living loser Josh Reyes handling the kids.
