Koreans known for three point shooting, idiot coach makes Gilas Youth sag on defense.
 
yeah I agree with the toxic and corny filipino comments in the FIBA stream. super corny as if it is funny (sampong libo jokes, ez mil, watching from jokes). that is why we are not respected by other hoop countries
 
possible 7th place finish for us. it will be the lowest place ever since it started..

an inexperienced coach coaching the talented wing batch..

Konov was not able to find his rhythm all tourney long. I hope the kid bounces back in the future tournaments
 

Gilas 16 and under point guard Jared Bahay aka Jhouse. He is our top scorer against South Korea with 25 points, 10 assists.
 
Basti reyes is having will navarro treatment with josh reyes. he’s bench warmer on this team.
Kid has potential but the coach didn’t know how to use him, too fascinated with the fil-am recruits.

Good Coaches utilize players according to their strengths and skill set. Konov stroke is pure if only he was played like Balti (delayed Big ) i think he is more comfortable on spot up rather than off the dribble. I mean every single play of Batang Gilas is off a dribble. The spacing is so bad they are dribbling off each others path.
 
The Reyeses have no shame. Each day, they disgrace Philippine basketball.

Harris? I dont know whats with him. Aside from his dunks, he is the most passive, no motor 16 yr old. Did choke overhyped him to be in seniors, that it got to his head and finds u16 ball as boring?
 
LOL, by the lack iof posts, it seemed like this game was over-shadowed by the game of their Kuyas vs Oppas . Foregone conclusion perhaps? Senior and U-16 both have same result, an L. But Kuyas' L has so many silver linings though.

The Seniors lost in a tune-up game, the U16 lost in a classification match to drop to their lowest finish in tournament history.

To put it simply, the loss to Australia was more encouraging.
 
Basti looks overwhelmed at this stage. It's as if this level is too quick for him. I guess if you were used to being the tallest guy all the time you would be culture shocked. This is good exposure for him so he'll know what he needs to work on.
