I know the Nieto u16 team did not encounter Oz or NZ. Did Kai? Realistically speakimg we are 4-6 in this age group after Oz, NZ and China. We are around the level of JP, Korea. I dont know anything about the ME teams though.

Edit: I forgot SK beat NZ

Iran and Lebanon probably has a team that can match well with PHI, KOR, JPN every other batch or so.

Yep. Kai's batch faced NZ.

Semifinals there was:

Philippines VS China

Australia VS NZ

Nz and Philippines lost. And faced each other in the battle for 3rd place where BG lost. Settling for 4th place.

Australia Beat China in the Finals

With the game against Kazakhstan, the Japan loss became more unforgiveable because seeing how other teams performed, a slot in the finals was very doable. Of course, Australia will likely win but at least we get to enter the Worlds.

We really need some help from some Goodfellas to solve our coaching problem.

I dont think so. More like the late bryan gahol

Basti is not that bad (in Ph level) its just that he was billed as an all-around player at 6'5ish. What we've seen with Bayla is i think how i expect Basti to be. Really unfair for him actually since si Bayla my guard rep/training overseas. If someone said from the beg that he's in the mold of Porter just slimmer&quicker (strictly as a big)then yes he's not that bad

Basti is skilled. Can rebound and bring the ball down himself. Best part is that he is a consummate teammate and willing passer. For this tournament its probably a confidence thing. But @16 he could still be a monster.

Letran pala siya sa college..

In the event of a miracle happening. (Again, A Miracle)

I mean batang gilas beating australia.

Will the credit go to coach josh?

Or, to our bg players.

I believe it will still credit to the players. Haha.

But that is very unlikely to happen.

Sayang yung japan. I believe it is a winnable game

The only way we’re winning against Australia later is if we hit our 3s like it’s everyone’s birthday, and Australia to do the opposite. Otherwise, finish na. Just too many advantages going for Australia, in practically all facets of the game. So yeah, luck it is.

all glory goes to the basketball gods, and since we don't have temples for that, i'm gonna donate my 5 trays of eggs instead to the sta clara sisters

to beat australia, the BG should play a perfect game.. tough task though..

knowing Australia, they’ll press the boys 24/7 even the lead is big..

If this suntok sa buwan happens, then I would strongly suggest SBP should appoint Josh Reyes As Gilas senior team head coach for next year's World Cup.

But believe me, our chance of beating Australia is close to zero.

obviously one to watch out for

The main reason why Gilas is wary of the Boomers is because of their 7-foot-1 stud Rocco Zikarski.

Zikarski, 15, is the brightest prospect in Australia today. In the competition, he is averaging 14.7 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks in three games played.

Definitely, Zikarski is unstoppable. It’s the reason why Gilas’ Zain Mahmood is toughening up heading into the contest.

“He is very skilled and obviously very tall but I believe if we contain him we can beat Australia,” said the 6-foot-6 Fil-Canadian, who is averaging 12.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in the tournament. “In terms of pre-game prep we are going to be game-planning and studying film on them so we can see how we can best go about taking down this powerhouse.”
