IMHO, I saw some semblance of that nightmare in Hanoi in majority of the sequence of plays, the only difference is that the once playing are kids.

Here we saw the popular preached DDO plays or kinda encouraged DDO plays! Plays such as players colliding- literally body to body, lots of one on one- your turn my turn, tunnel vision drives and transition plays, etc....

Four other players standing around while the one with the ball over dribbles for 20 secs then shoot, or drives and then makes an emergency pass. Rinse and repeat.

Ah the DDO special of driving, turning, panicking and throwing a wild shot or pass. Castro and Dillinger have perfected this

another problem of these kids is that they probably grew in an environment where they are dominant over their peers. kaya they have the misplaced confidence that they can just blowby or overpower their opponents. they simply are not trained to look for their teammates and find the most efficient shot early.

Less effort needed for their guys to get a step on their opponents.

Plus, Kentucky has had a reputation for recruiting a crap-ton of talented players.

I observed the players Kentucky have can dribble from the perimeter/elbow area and create a decent shots off the dribble may it be a layup to the rim or pull up jumper including the Bigs. Are all or most Gilas or Batang Gilas players have this skill set?!

Again, this is the DDO that Kentucky used.

Kentucky's DDO is dribble once then drive or dribble once then pass. While Choke's DDO is dribble all you want then drive and if the defender stop the driving player then that's the time he will pass the ball to his teammate and his teammate will do the same(dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble then drive to the basket).. :o

Nope they cant, even in our pro league it'll be tough to find one since these are world class talents&athletes which we sorely lack. Malonzo probably be the closest to these Kentucky guys

pinoy guards are relatively small, hence, their court vision isn't the sharpest. they're literally in a very dark place once taller opponents raise their arms outstretched to block their view.

Mikee Reyes is, sad to say, also beholden to some people. He may present himself as unfilitered for the people but just like Jalen and Jacoby, they do have some names they will never go against.

Yup, mostly players though. For example he never went after Ryan Buenafe when he took part in gamefixing.

Just in: Jayden Harper gets his ph passport
Saw the post and all indications point to him being eligible (despite obtaining his physical passport after his 16th birthday) but I’m holding my breath ‘til he’s out there playing as a local. I hope we confirm this sooner than later, either via him playing, a clear cut declaration from his camp or a FIBA listing on its site.

Lets see if Jayden will be invited, and if he will accept an U18 invitation

My 2 centavos... Japan plays in a very disciplined, deliberate and somewhat predictable way. It is their culture. It is effective in the youth stages, and becomes very effective when generational-talent appears (Rui). We've had success against them in the senior levels because in the past, we've been able to counter them with our dynamism, physicality and athleticism (FilFors).

Now we must not forget that this is our U16 team. It is composed of 15-17 year olds. Anyone who has played the game knows that these are not finished products, they are still kids so let us please be mindful of our comments towards them and make criticisms constructive. Winning this tournament takes a back seat to the "development" of the prospects that have a chance of making our seniors team. We are not team USA (or Australia in our bracket) where we have the luxury of countless prospects and winning the championship is always the goal.

If we look at the big picture, there are very bright spots. Konov is a blessing seemingly out of nowhere, with his length and potential skillset. Harris size and athleticism cannot be taught. And there's more who show promising potential like Bayla. They also play in the US so they will continue to gain the advantage of playing in positions that are international level.

Current Wildcats vs TNT with import. Who do you bet your house on?

A US NCAA top tier schools will be always advantage even against best teams in the PBA (SMB and Ginebra)... US NCAA level is as same level as playing in Euroleagues....

I humbly disagree...US NCAA is a few notches below Euroleague...they might be above in terms of athleticism and talent but not in everything else...
