Yeah. Not bad. 6'4 who can play some guard. I can see him making waves in the UAAP if he continues his development.

Lets see if this Fil Foreigns can live up to the hype next week.

Kuwait.

I am expecting our U16 to have a good game against Kuwait. It should be, if we eant an atleast 4th place finish

i have low expectation for everyone. biggest is to see Harris run the break. i dont get excited with highlights, so i guess that mellow my expectation down

same here, with no(less?) pick and slide play/pick n roll play, with low percentage beyond the ark and less jimmy shot I had to lower my expectation as well.

She must have a big cavity, considering she's not that tall, another who can't go back once you go black.

Correct when you see Denise, you really say to yourself how in the world?, he is really below 5 feet..Saw him in upperdeck when she and Sol are still together

My expectation still is that they will beat Kuwait.

Against japan is 50-50.

I still believe in the athleticism of our kids.

Though, its true that our kids is not running complicated european pick and slide plays, etc.

But for me, they should finish 1-1 minimum in their group

What I'm looking for is better defense in the team play context. If the guys can defend well as a team, it will bode well for their Gilas futures.

Interesting how they will defend too.

I think we have some kids who are good individual defenders.

For ex: Caelum and Bayla are both very good individual perimeter defenders

But team defense is a different animal.

I think our kids are more designed to defend against perimeter players.

Kinda more worried in Interior defense though. I dont think Mahmood, Porter, Basti, and Konov are Legit Rim Protectors. So yeah should be a team effort controlling the paint.

This is our First Opponent. I think our kids are generally taller and more athletic. Thats why I am setting my tampered bar as they should beat this kuwait team convincingly

Probably the only team our kids will face that they will have an advantage on

Probably why we play 5 out because we don’t have a legit Big.

Like it or not, Chot's, and by extention, Jai's offensive schemes also allow ( or encouraged) ball dominant players to call iso or pnr plays for themselves. That's why Blatche, Alapag, Castro. TR7 and LA shone during their times with Gilas. Can we see Caellum, bar none, the team's most hyped player, calling plays when situation arises? I believe so.

He’s supposedly the best player on the team, so I expect him to have ball most of the time.

At this stage you dont really need elite rim protection. 6'1 Mike Nieto stopped guys towering over him. Mahmoud and Porter should be able to do the same.

as projected by others here’s the possible starting 5 for us

C - Mahmoud 6’6
PF - Harris 6’6
SF - Konov 6’7
SG - Bayla 6’4
PG - Gemao 6’0

not bad.. we can play tall small ball tactics here..

That's actually a proper-sized small-ball lineup. Either Bayla, Basti, or Konov at 3, and then Caelum or Basti at the 4.

At least we can move past the concept of having a 3-small guard lineup with 2 bigs passing as small ball.

I think its more ideal for Konov to be the stretch 4 while Harris is the playmaking forward ala Tatum.

On defense I think with long tall wings CH and Bayla, we wont get overplayed. Konov and Mahmoud can pack the middle

Japan's coach said with 4 players standing 2 meters ( 6'6) and over, they will pound it in the inside. Well we have big boys too to meet them there, good luck to them on that. PHL and JPN 's height average is just the same at 6'2 btw.

Remove Gemao and add a 7’0 like Vucevic, then you basically have a starting lineup like the Bulls:

One 7 footer and the rest are 6’6-6’7 guards/wings.

Then, the second unit will be like:

PG: Jared Bahay - 5'9"
SG: Renzo Competente - 6'2"
SF: Jayden Jones - 6'2"
PF: Basti Reyes - 6'5"
C: Kristian Porter - 6'5"

Nieto are there for leadership. Romero are there for hustle. (Based on some rumors)
