actually, DDO is also a type of motion offense as it is free-flowing and relatively unrestricted. DDO also uses player movement, often as a strategy to exploit the quickness of the offensive team or to neutralize a size advantage of the defense.

What sucks is the Reyes father and son relies heavily on DDO, and worse rely to much and isolation, hero ball. Relies to much on drive and kick to three points shots on very quick play. compared to Coach tab nothing is rush. He lets his players get there composure

In this age group, it all boils down on whos got the more advanced skills, regardless of size ( tho it helps if you're bigger than most) . Them boys will be alright. pretty good size in the 2-3-4, I just hope they wont be over-coached by ChotJr

Yup. 6'1 Mike Nieto and 5'9 Jolo led our team to the u16 worlds. Im more concerned with development and skills they can carry over to the next level.

DDO is actually good for this level of development. It forces the players to be creative and instead of relying on a structured system.Being used to playing in chaos or without a system forces you out of your box.

I think last window and SEA games motion strong and more of Coach tab offense was used. Execution was the issue that's why once breakdown they go iso. Only Indo game we went heavy on Iso, the rest we did motion strong, horns and PnR

This is another hot take. But I think Our Gilas U16 2022 will perform as good, if not better as our Gilas U16 2018.

Hear me out:

1. China and (Korea?) will not join. China is a tough opponent because of their usual size.

2. Our Guards and Wings today are way way better than our Guards and Wings in 2018. I mean Caelum, Konov, Bayla, Jones are way better than Abadiano, Fortea, and Lazaro imo.

3. Speaking of Fil Foreigns. ALL 5 of them are US/Ovserseas Based and Trained. Caelum, Zain, Bayla, Jones, Konov. Then 1 homegrown Competente trained in US for 2 yrs. I think they will fit better in Coach Josh Offense.

The only thing I see that 2018 batch have is thar they have Kai, Geo, Raven Frontline. So, that bigs batch is special

I am expecting and hoping for U16 to place 4th.

(Especially we must be atleast 4th in U16 to qualify in U17)

Guys, This is interestiing

Our U16 Players Height Without Shoes (According to Sir Enzo Flojo)

He said the team measured their height BAREFOOTED.

"Alex is legit 6'7.
Zain is legit 6'6.
Jacob is 6'4.
Caelum & Basti are actually both a shade under 6'5 but rounded up, 6'5 na rin."

^ ^ ^ ^ ^

good info about those players real height as of now.

Wow! Konov is already a legit 6-foot-7. He is a natural small forward, right? If he grows by 1 more inch, he would be a legit 6-foot-8 small forward. He could be the tallest natural small forward Filipino ever to enter Phi basketball.

Hope Caleum grows by 2 more inches.

Yup. I am surprised too that he is 6'7 barefooted. I thought that is w/shoes.

And he is only 16!!!

Now, let's see his shooting and skills if transferrable to Fiba.

He may play in US NCAA div 1 in the future too, if not nba.

Figures, that's why Jayden Jones and Jacob Bayla said in an interview that their height was 6'4 and 6'6. I'd say based on Fiba standards, heights reported should be added by an inch.

If most guys grow 1-2 inches like most 17 year olds do. That’s close to the size of most nba teams who have gone small. Good sized guards and wings

I am really excited with the display of their skills.

Especially, if they will use DDO more.

Yes, in this youth group. 16 yrs old. Skills matter a lot. Rather than size (though it is a big advantage)

Our U16 kids just need to win against Kuwait and Japan. And they will be auto 4th at minimum.

I think it is doable.

We will rely on our kids' athleticism

one of our possible opponents in the crossover:

Korea:

Kim Seonghun 6'8
Shin Hyunbin 6'6
Ku Mingyo 6'6

Hoping for good performance for this BG batch and hoping some scouts would notice their talent (especially on the homegrown side)
