Lack of dependable shooters talaga eh. I hope Alex Konov will be that missing link.

Yeah. A lot of open looks misses. In the bright side, the kids have mobility and some athleticism

Hopefully, Konov will be that pure shooter. Hehe

Based on what I read. I think Caelum will play PF. And Pre is considered Wing.

So I would go

PG: Gemao, Bahay

SG: Bayla, Jones

SF: Basti, Pre

PF: Kotov, Caelum

C: Mahmood, Porter

As my 10 Man Rotation.
Positive on this, for Asia u16 just add 61 Romero G and 62 Competente SG
for World u17 if ever
60 Gemao
59 Bahay

67 Harper
64 Bayla
62 Jones

67 Konov
66 Basti
65 Pre

66 Harris
65 Edu

67 Mahmood
65 Porter

I’m excited for this batch. So much versatility to offer.

They are mobile and versatile. True. I am excited too.

Their problem seems to be shooting though. Maybe, Konov can change that thing up. I read he will arrive herw this sunday.

3rd clip.

Finally Caelum showed he can hit a jumper. Porter Kid have some potential, big body. Mahmood and Porter Inside presence.

And we really need a shooter!!! Hopefully, Konov will be that guy

I just wanna add some takes, as usual no pick n roll/pick n slide play or they are just hiding something..all I’ve seen more of a come what may/hero ball play and lots of dribbling as usual. DDO Jr. must really do all the motivation and guidance to make our boys happy and contended with his Do or Die Offense otherwise no stint for the FIBA World U17 for our lads.

If only Femi Edu and Jayden Harper were available... man, our length and athleticism would be very hard to match against any Asian teams (minus Australia and NZ lol)

Team is in badly need of exposure games at a better level, lined up are 3 games .. prior to tourney..

What should bw those exposure games?

Overseas? Do we have budget?

Or our tuneups is limited here in the Philippines.

TNT and Phenom. Are there other tuneup games, they will play against?

Humble observations:

66 Caelum- MVP of the team, bring down the ball, shoot 3, rebounds, good def and can block
67 Zain-positions well for rebounds, defended Poy well; bit slow and heavy (blocked by Poy and in 1 instance missed a forced/open layup)
64 Bayla- bring down the ball, moves well and keeps on moving (for position of an offensive rebound and open spaces) a pesky defender man to man or trapping d
61 Gemao- Shoot 3, moves well; very light, did not see him driving for a layup
59 Bahay- very composed player, good point guard; good shooting form (indication of a good shooter); a little bit slow and heavy
65 Porter- positions well, can posibly push/put body to opposing Center, with good hands (made a fade away and can layup in traffic); short for a center; bit heavy and slow
61 Romero- @ very limited time, annoying & pesky defender, keeps on harrasing
62 Jones- cant judge @ very limited time
511 Nieto-pick up offensive rebound; played for the no.2 position; with 2 very careless passes; small and slow for shooting guard (Playing like a big Mike rather than a more celebral Matt)
Where is 66 Basti and 65 Pre?

Tune-up games against Uaap and NCaa collegiate teams is as good fit for this kids.

They Are all playing teams that play a similar fast pace up and down style of basketball, it would be nice for them to face teams with size and athleticism and other systems to really test and prepare them.

I think the Phenom team they faced has really good size. They have a 6'9 big and a 6'7 wing. It's just that based on the short highlights I've seen, they struggled to execute good plays and just settled for one-on-one basketball.

UAAP teams with FSAs are a good approximation of the top U16 teams in the world, hope they are able to scrimmage against them

Who are the 6'9 and 6'7 Phenom guys?

Basti and Pre Could have played. Its just that they are in the bench in the clips. Lol.

Anyway, they need to decide who are the final 12 rn.

So, they know who will be their teammates already. They need to be familiarized with each other's tendencies. My projected 10 man rotation is still the same

Gemao, Bahay

Bayla, Jones

Pre, Basti

Caelum, Konov

Zain, Porter

Question is, are collegiate teams available right now since katatapos lang ng UAAP & NCAA basketball seasons?
