2018 NBA Offseason

Marcus Smart back to Boston on a four year deal worth $52 million.

Seems like about what he's worth for them given the fact that he didn't break out last year like he could've and their major depth along the wing. Good move for both sides.

Mavs re-signing Yogi Ferrell to a two year deal for $5 million+. Not bad for a former undrafted free agent.

Melo to Atlanta along with a protected 2022 first for Schroder and Mike Muscala.

Man, OKC is building a crazy strong team. Imagine Schroder off the bench behind Russ!

Edit: Apparently, OKC got even more. Rather than Muscala, they got Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot from my Sixers and we also traded Justin Anderson to Atlanta.

So basically, we just traded OKC a player who is better than the centerpiece of what they got for James Harden.... for Mike Muscala.

Can't wait to hear them spin this one.

not a fan of this trade, any part of it, at all. it is understandable why they are pushing for it. Melo would probably go to the Rockets, i guess thats something considering they lost Ariza and Mbah a Moute this offseason.

OKC won this trade going away but the Hawks won too considering they felt the need to get rid of Schroder.

TLC and Schroder for the Melo contract and a protected first rounder 3 years from now. And Atlanta gets a pick and a solid young player in Anderson for a guy who probably wouldn't have played much and a guy they felt they had to move on from.

OKC is building a strong young core around Russ, PG, and Steven Adams. Something they lacked for years after trading away most of their young guys other than Russ, KD, and Ibaka.

no argument there, OKC won. They needed to shed Melo and some pieces and they did. Atlanta wanted to get rid of Dennis, and got a nice player while doing. Sixers just had a lot of wings and wanted to move some of them specially since they lost their Ersan replacement.

Yeah... unfortunately they moved the wrong ones.

They gambled big trying to set up a chance to sign LeBron and lost big. Now unless they have a major move up their sleeve, Landry Shamet and Zhaire Smith are their backup shooting guards/small forwards. Hopefully Shake Milton gets healthy but even with that, that's a weak ass bench. Not to mention after this season when Chandler and Reddick are both a year older and most likely gone.

Suns trade Jared Dudley to the Nets for Darrell Arthur, who they plan to buy out. Solid move I guess.

Sixers trade Holmes to the Suns for cash considerations. Brett Brown the GM officially sucks. The fact that this opens up a spot for 2017 second round pick Jonah Bolden to sign a four year contract worth $7 million doesn't change that.

Suns also guarantee the contract of 2017 second round pick Davon Reed and make it clear they plan to keep undrafted guard Shaq Harrison.

Turns out he backed out and signed with the Kings for 2 years and $6.2 million instead.

How many point guards that aren't really point guards does that team need?

Monte Morris gets signed by Denver to a 3 year, $4.8 million deal.

Canadian Chris Boucher signed to a training camp deal by Raptors.

OKC trades Dakari Johnson and cash to Orlando for Rodney Purvis.

Grizzlies sign Yu Watanabe to a two year two-way deal and release Myke Henry.

Michael Beasley has agreed to a one year deal with the Lakers worth $3.5 million.

I hope we trade a few pieces during the season. We have a lot of assets but so far only book, when healthy, looks solid. Chriss, bender, even jackson are still potentials. Ayton is a rookie so hard to gauge till regular season. Man, our starting pg is knight. Not an exciting thought. Hahahaha

I have no doubt you will. Probably Chriss and Warren. Maybe Chandler to a contender if they'll take on that ridiculous salary.

That is pretty bad lol. Doubt you all can get Kemba now given the fact that he seems to want to be a Hornet for life. But there are players available though I'm sure. And plenty of guys in the G League who were very strong college players but got overlooked by teams on draft night.

Bjelica to the Kings on a three year, $20.5 million deal. Went from one year at 4 million or so to three years at 6+ million per. Not bad at all, even though the third year isn't guaranteed. Good pickup by the Kings, too.

Montrezl Harrell back to the Clippers on a two year deal worth $12 million.

Not a bad raise for now but if used correctly he should be a bargain at that price.

Atlanta signs former top ten pick Alex Len to a two year deal worth $8.5 million guaranteed. Interesting move. Maybe a change of scenery could help him revive his career.

Tobias Harris apparently rejected an extension worth $80 million.

Imo, this was a mistake. He's talented and unique as a scorer but he needs to look around the NBA. The teams who will have the money to sign him don't need him, and unless he averages like 23+ points per game then I don't see how he's getting max money from anybody. I don't think that offer will even be on the table again after this season given the fact that he doesn't play defense and there's going to be a lot of other scorers wanting the ball, like a healthy Gallinari. You know both SGA and Jerome Robinson will get a lot of minutes given how high they were drafted so you can expect both to cut into his attempts per game. Plus a healthy Avery Bradley. The only way this move makes sense for him is if he really doesn't want to be a Clipper.

Memphis trades former 2015 first round pick Jarell Martin and cash to Orlando for Dakari Johnson.

Obviously Memphis feels they have their future frontcourt in Rabb and Jackson Jr. If they do keep Dakari, he could be a solid third string big off the bench. If not, his salary isn't guaranteed anyway.

Bulls claim Antonius Cleveland off of waivers from the Hawks. Kind of surprised at this since he's on a multi-year deal.

salary cap will go up next year, he probably think he'll get a better offer from Clips next year. He is good, i dont think he is that good. he should have taken his money but thats me. if things go his way next year, good for him. i just feel like West will use the money to improve the team by adding either a star or 2 and ensure bench is a bit deeper than now.

Yeah. Him and Khris Middleton are extremely similar players when it comes to the level of player they are, except Middleton plays defense and now has a 40+ point game to his name. Avery Bradley is another guy like that but he happens to be a lockdown defender -and a versatile one at that. Then you have guys like Nurkic, Vucevic, Greg Monroe, Thad Young, Galinari, etc. He's going to really have to round himself out as a player to get above those guys and into 100+ million territory. His becoming an accurate three point shooter last season majorly helped but he's going to have to be able to play and more importantly guard both forward spots and just become that genuine star player who is more than just a one-dimensional player who every so often drops thirty plus. This season is really make or break for him in that regard.
