2018 CBC Women's Championship (June 17-21)

Rosters are trickling in:

Bahamas
The team is made up of Taniel Poitier, Valerie Nesbitt, Joette Fernander, Brea Forbes (Grand Bahama), Arlia Greene (Grand Bahama), Tracy Lewis, Latoya Rolle, Ashley Moss, Britenique Harrison, Pamela Bethel, Taronya Wildgoose (Grand Bahama) and Shalonda Neely.

Missing most of their main players, as well as their head coach. US-based Nesbitt and Neely the top returning players.

Barbados
SQUAD: Tamisha Flatts (captain), Toni Atherley, Astrid Alleyne, Maria Cumberbatch, Ria Phillips, Ashlee Daniel, Shakila Small, Anicia Wood, Deidre Lassiter, Tower Lorde, Zahra Ashby, Rashanna Thorne, Terry Inniss (head coach), Ianthum Alleyne (assistant coach).

Missing high-scoring Dale-Marie Cumberbatch, but veterans Atherley and Alleyne are back to lead the team. Wood is a former pro volleyball player. Small is a 6-3 forward who saw limited playing time for Oklahoma State last year. Lorde was top scorer at the CBC U16 tournament in 2016. They played an unusual warmup game against a men's youth team (U-16 or U-17 I think), losing 81-74.

Guyana
The team which is coached by Troy Greene, features Ginelle Ifill (Captain), Miriam McKenzie (Co-Captain), Jada Mohan, Annalisa Barclay, Saffiya Greene, Kennesha Leacock, Roschelle Campbell, Demelza Nicholas, Caron Bobb-Semple, Makeida Rogers, Cliffanna Hunter and Kesann Charles.

McKenzie, who has had a few European pro stints, averaged 24.4 points and 11.6 rebounds a game at the 2015 tournament, where Guyana went winless. Ifill played junior college ball in the US. Many of these players were on the U16 team a couple years ago, which scored just 77 points in three games.

Dominican Republic

A veteran team, probably good enough to take one of the top three spots.

Groups were a little different than I said in the first post:

Group A
Cuba 2-0
Bahamas 1-1
St. Vincent 0-2

Group B
Dominican Republic 3-0
Barbados 2-1
Suriname 1-2
Guyana 0-3

Semifinals
Cuba 106 Barbados 41
Dominican Republic 56 Bahamas 41

Final Cuba 66 Dominican Republic 55
Third Place Bahamas 65 Barbados 56

Cuba, DR, and Bahamas advance to Centrobasket, which will be held in Puerto Rico in August.
