Short overview: balded seem to be absolute locks (Ulanovas most likely as well). The biggest question is - will D-Mo be available. If not, we would go smaller. The biggest competition lies at SG. My prediction is that Milaknis and Girdziunas will be fellows to Grigonis here. Overall, if D-Mo comes, that's one of better balanced Lithuania's teams in recent time. No open, obvious holes.

Promised Russian NT preliminary roster (for your enjoyment I shall list it in a flashy way, only guards, forwards and centers :D). Teams are the one in which this player ended 2016-2017 season.

Guards: Dmitrii Khvostov (1989; Lokomotiv), Ivan Strebkov (1991; Nizhny Novgorod), Maxim Kolyushkin (1990; Avtodor), Dmitrii Kulagin (1992; CSKA), Vyacheslav Zaytsev (1989; Khimki), Evgenii Baburin (1987; Lokomotiv), Mikhail Kulagin (1994; CSKA), Alexei Shved (1988; Khimki), Vitalii Fridzon (1985; CSKA), Sergei Bykov (1983; Avtodor);

Forwards: Sergei Karasev (1993; Zenit), Nikita Kurbanov (1986; CSKA), Vladislav Trushkin (1993; Enisei), Stanislav Il'nitskii (1994; Khimki), Alexander Zakharov (1993; Khimki), Andrei Vorontsevich (1987; CSKA), Semyon Antonov (1989; CSKA), Andrei Zubkov (1991; Lokomotiv), Pavel Antipov (1991; UNICS), Evgenii Valiev (1990; Zenit), Vladimir Ivlev (1990; Lokomotiv), Pyotr Gubanov (1987; Nizhny Novgorod);

Centers: Timofei Mozgov (1986; LA Lakers), Artyom Klimenko (1994; UNICS), Dmitrii Sokolov (1985; Khimki), Anton Pushkov (1988; Zenit), Alan Makiev (1990; Avtodor).

Bolded are the players which most probably would make the final cut if they want to :D (Semi)notable absences: PGs: Anton Ponkrashov (UNICS), Pavel Sergeev (Zenit), Artyom Vikhrov (Zenit), Vasilii Zavoruev (Enisei), Maxim Grigor'yev (Nizhny Novgorod), SGs: Egor Vyal'tsev (Khimki), Evgenii Voronov (UNICS), Evgenii Kolesnikov (Avtodor), SFs: Vadim Panin (UNICS).

Worst position is definitely C as aside from Mozgov most of the other guys were unable to crack rotations in their respetive clubs. Overall I think we have a solid quality in our ranks with enough of all-around, hard-working players whose playing potential could be a positive surprise for many of the basketball analysts and experts but we also experience a lack of true stars aside from one clinical idiot (Shved), one player who hugely overestimates his playing capabilities (Karasev) and one fake and kinda washed up NBA semistar (Mozgov). Also some of our potentially key players are coming off a fresh unsuccessful season (Khvostov, Kulagin, etc.).

Latvia preliminary squad:

1) Strelnieks, Jakovics, Lejasmeiers
2) Bertans, Blums, Aig. Skele, Ausejs
3) Timma, Berzins, Janicenoks, Peiners
4) Bertans, Silins, Smits, Grazulis
5) Porzingis, Meiers, Gromovs, Cavars

Kurucs and Pasecniks will skip EB 2017

It's a pity that there will not be a Pasecniks, we no will can watch how much you are ready for the NBA season.

And keep a lighter side, Spain will play without any naturalized player.

Bit off topic but imo guys like Mirotic and Wilson (Finland) are getting too much hate just because the over all situation is so horrible. They have real connection to country that they play for. That been said, I think Fiba should allow zero naturalized players because BS politic by some coutries.

Finland is playing agaist Latvia tonight. Both teams miss some key players. Koponen is suffering some hand injury and his status is still questionable for EB. Teemu Rannikko made come back to NT practice but nobody knows if he's gonna play. After all these years we finally have pretty decent front line (Markkanen, E.Murphy) and then we find questions with our guards.. Tonight Alex Murphy is making his senior NT debut along with shooting guard Topias Palmi who 2013 scored 60 points in U20b Eurochamp and was best domestic scorer last season in Finland. Nice to see if they can compete against real level.

Luwawu out.

What about Gallo, i saw he is 40 days out?

Gallo Punched Jan Kok and fracturins his right hand,a genius

our leader of the generation of loser,king of lsoer danilo gallinari :D

I hope to see Melli,Pascolo,Datome we can live also without him

with him we never won a medal so this isn't so great loss for us
