The Federation should put him on the team and forget about the college tournament. Common, the Asians are more important!!!!!!!!! Is more important to see RP in the Olympics than who ever gets champion in the college championship. Where are the priorities of the people in charge of Basketball in the Phillipines!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine RP with this team:

Cyro Bagio
Gabe Norwood 6"5"
Kerry Williams 6"5"
Jason Ballesteros 6"7"
Greg Slaughter 6"11"
Marcus Eugene Douhit 6"11"
Bring back Jimmy Alapga!!!!!!!!!! hehehehe

Please, the PBL should change that ridiculous rule that no foreign player taller than 6"6" can't play in the profesional league.

ON ASSUMPTION that the NBA lockout drags on for a year, how do you think will this affect the preparation then composition of Team USA?

On that scenario, I expect the USA Basketball Board of Directors to open negotiations with NBA Commissioner Stern, NBA Board of Directors and the team owners to secure the necessary clearance for the intended players from the National Pool to participate in the national training camp.

On Team Composition, the hindrance is the latter on which if the NBA does not agree to a compromised accord or the players themselves are not willing due to the negotiations still ongoing.

On Team preparation, USAB will take care of that.

that's at the end of 2012. I don't think it will affect it at all even if the season is lost, they have a lot of time to deal with the Olympics

If the NBA players dont go overseas to play in other profesional leagues around the world, it would be very smart, if they let NBA players play at London because it would help the players get back in shape after almost a year without playing competitive ball.

NBA Season is not Lost

If the Lockout is resolved and the NBA 2011-2012 Season is not lost, it leaves Team USA with less than a month to prepare for the tournament as the NBA Finals closes in mid June. Less time for training camp for the players to shape up and gel with one another. Less time for the coaching staff to evaluate closely the players in the pool.

Everything has to be done in a short amount of time. There is also the possibility of pool selection where the coaches have to narrow the pool to 15 players even during the NBA Playoffs. Those narrowed players could practice immediately.

NBA Season is Lost

Suppose an NBA Lockout is in the duration of July 2011 to June 2012. The London Olympics open in July 27, 2012.

As what I pointed on my previous post, an NBA Lockout that ends up devouring the whole season, it will have some risky benefits. Assuming the USA Basketball and the NBA / Team Owners agree to release the players and the players on the pool are willing to join the pool, then preparations can start early.

More time for a comprehensive and careful selection of players from the pool, more time for training camp and more time for players to gel on court.

is it forbidden to have a foreign player who is over 6''6'' in your league????? why??? it is really interesting

I cannot answer you that question Turk-Jugoslav, Im not phillipine, plus I dont know much of the phillipines profesional league.

Phillipines with height limit and Taiwan with height limit. Wao!!!!!! this show me that this federations dont want to improve.

no wonder they they dod so bad against tall teams in international competitions because they are nto used to playing against tall players.

the last time AI saw a Phillipines game they had a fat 6'6" starting center playing against Yao Ming.

We are one year away from the olympics, from now to there, this lockout should be over.

Ciscorlie Horford, they fat guy of 6"6" you are saying, facing Yao Ming should be Asi Taulava. Asi is 6"9", and they also have Japeth Aguilar who is also 6"9"and a lot younger.
