Who do you think are the early favourites for ultimate football prize?

Here are my top 5:

Argentina
Brazil
England
Italy
Spain

Of course, once the 2010 FIFA World Cup seeding on the 4th of December takes place it would provide the sporting world a more clearer map of predicitons.

Obviously, in this World Cup I'm supporting my country: AUSTRALIA and my adopted homes: Uruguay and Honduras. I have a soft spot for the country of my girlfriend who is from Honduras.

I'm hoping that Australia is put in the same group as England. Though, I have my doubts of whether we would win, I'm hoping that this will increase the profile of football in our country.

my top teams: Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Potugal, Germany. (the winner will definitely be among these teams).

Gotta love the reaction of the Honduras announcers when the US scored a last minute goal against Costa Rica to put them in the world cup (starts about 20 seconds in)

And of course the Costa Rican version:

As for now favorites to win IMO are Brazil and Spain, then England, Netherlands, maybe Ivory Coast could surprise in own continent. Argentina, France with such coaches won't go far, their gameplan looks just awful. Italy looks bad too, changes of generations should've been made earlier, now it's too little time to make it and to test it. Germany and Portugal didn't impress me either. Portugal's offense is too bad to get smth.

My personal favorite is Brazil by far. Then I have sympathies to Slovenia, Ivory Coast. Spain and Netherlands also plays great football, nice to watch

I think it will come down to Spain or Brazil. But the World Cup always hides the magic of some team getting one awesome month and reaching the glory... or a game of bad luck or bad refereeing, and then nothing can be predicted.

1- Spain
2- Brazil
3- Netherlands
4- Germany

Argentina, France and Portugal have good squads but their coaches aren't enough for make them champion.

I'm looking forward to the confusion between Slovenia and Slovakia during the tournament.

I can already see the swapped flags, the wrong-labeled maps, references to Czechoslovenia, Ljubrislava etc.

Good thing they cannot be drawn against each-other....

I pick England simply because I support it... but I think at the end of the day, its Spain and Brazil...

They can always meet at the Round of 16. Looking forward to it:p

PS: Spain's long period of excellence must be respected, but it usually isn't a good omen when trying to win a World Cup. Examples: Argentina and France 2002, Brazil 1998.

Certainly that Serbia will get the "group of death" on the paper. What would a WC be without such a circumstance. Truly a pity that two of Ger, Ser, Gha, Aus will not make the final 16.
