in my predictitions this are the ff.

GOLD-CHINA,IRAN or LEBANON
SILVER-JORDAN,KOREA
BRONZE-PHILIPPINES or JAPAN

and pls add also ur predictions.. thank you!!

Philippines has a good chance in getting medal if we can combine PBA and Smart Gilas in the asian games. the earlier ryan reyes and williams to play, the higher the chances for the medal contentions this is only logical.

to mods, i think this is the 5th asiad thread in the PBA forum. it is time to combine everything. it will be easier to discuss in only one thread.

Agree. because if you say that 3 teams will battle for gold, then therefore, you see them as the 3 strongest contenders then the other 2 that will lose will be for silver and bronze medal. Those which he put on bronze and silver will be demoted to non medalist teams.:D

This is good .giving multiple gold medals.
There should be four silver medalist not just two
and five bronze medalist.
all the rest received fake bronze medals.

this asian games basketball champions is IRAN~~but 2011 asia champions i feeling is CHINA~~

the 2011 Asian Men's Champion is NOT going to be China. China sucks, they are overrated. No one knows exactly WHO will win, despite these COCKY ARROGANT Chinese like Batista55. That's what we here in the West always think of Chinese, that they are too cocky and arrogant and think they are4 the best6 all the time because their country is rising. You better shut up Batista55, you're an arrogant cocky Chinese guy always thinking you're the best all the time, all puffed up because you think that your country is rising. No one likes that type of Chinese guy around the world. Look at what happened in the 2009 FIBA ASIA Men's Continental Championships. I mean Iran WON, that's because the Chinese were too arrogant and cocky, they were shocked and humiliated. That's what you get for assuming things, maybe next time you shouldn't assume you are the better nation in sports and other things, or otherwise the same thing willo happen again. You better CHANGE your ways before you FALL HARD to LAST. No one knows exactly who will win, except afterwards, so no one should assume anything. After all, sometimes just because they are tall, they sometimes win. China should be more like other countries and MORE HUMBLE. The more humble they are, at least, if they suck at sports, the better their personality, the more other people will like them around the world.

GOLD - CHINA (it's payback time for them)
SILVER - IRAN (If haddadi will not play they will lose to the mighty chinese)
BRONZE - a toss up between LEBANON, KOREA(they have lenny wilkens), RP(Smart Gilas) - if williams joins plus the naturalized import, JORDAN(they'll gain experience playing in WBC)

Gold - China or Iran
Bronze - May either be Jordan, Lebanon, South Korea or Philippines

lebanon has his eye on 2011 asian championship hosted in beirut. I dt think we will participate with our A team

Be Realsitic Guys , this is Asian Games and Medals Exists not Arab Championship or any regional compeititon !

Philippines and their participation in the past ...

Philippines and their participation in the past ...

I still remember when the Philippines would always said their very, very best to this event and yet in reality this event is not an important event in the Asian Basketball Calendar in comparison to the Asian Basketball Championships.

It's good that the Philippines has now sent their best to the "real" event of Asian Basketball and not to this event.

I still remember prior to the Philippines finishing 15th out of 16th in the Asian Basketball Championship a few years back (approx 8 years ago or so), there was a free lance journalist who wrote in one of the Filipino major newspaper the need for the Philippines to stop sending their best players to the Asian Games and to send them to the Asian Basketball Championship. I forgot his name but his article was based on the theme that the Philippines was taking a step backwards while the rest of the Asian Basketball Countries were taking a step forward in sending their best to the "real" basketball tournament. He was so accurate of his analysis that the "real" basketball event was the Asian Basketball Championship as all Asian nations would send their very best to this event in order to have a shot at qualifying for the World Championships or the Olympics. I remembered getting frustrated when I saw the 2002 Philippines lineup for the Asian Games featuring some high quality players from the PBA such as my main man: Asi Taulava however, when I looked at the 2003 Philippines lineup for the Asian Basketball Championships it was filled with players from the MBA - Metropolitan Basketball Association.

Thank God times have changed.

Whos participating?

the deadline for registration is already over, I think the host will publish the draw soon. looks like only 12 teams can participate in the main round (like previous edition)

- Some Sources says that Jordan NT "B" Will Participate in Asian Next November , So if it is True then You Can get Jordan out of Medals Contenders !

I think we 're in better situation now. and we can do it.but it's depend on final China roster too.
