There are so many up and coming good players here in the Toronto area. Last North American Basketball tournament held here in Toronto ( with teams from various US cities and Canada), The host city (Toronto) won something like 7 of 10 divisions.

^Looks like a guard. A sixteen-year-old 6'2" shooting guard. He'd still be eligible to play for the U-18 team in 2010.

I was able to read the article, and there's no mention of Michigan State anywhere. Also, according to ESPN.com, Michigan State has already signed two power forwards and one shooting guard, all ranked 85 or higher. If they have Drew Neitzel returning next season, the roster will be loaded at every position.

Wright is on the eyes of two D-I programs, though: Ivy League member Brown (which does not have athletic scholarships) and Lehigh, which is more known for its engineering programs than for its athletics.

i think we had a better team this time around..but what about those who have dropped out? are they still part of a long-term training pool or whatsoever?
 
anyone from Florida? I was reading some bball news on Florida and came across a 14/15 yr old named Jason Pimentel. Couldn't find any pic of him so I can't tell if he is Pinoy or not. anyone wants to fill me in on the guy? gooc stat line if you look for him in the web.

MANILA, Philippines -- Noosa Shoes blew a double-digit cushion in the final period, before holding on to an 83-76 triumph against a reinforced Nokia Philippine Youth Team in the Philippine Basketball League Lipovitan Amino Sports Cup Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.

The under-18 squad rallied behind new recruit Norbert Torres, Gabriel Banal, and Joel De Guzman to trim a 25-point gap, 74-49, at the end of the third period to just nine points, 83-74, in the last 59.1 seconds.

Torres, a hefty 6-foot-7 center, made an instant impact with 17 points just a week after arriving from Toronto, Canada.

A recruit from Mother Teresa High School, Torres completed his all-around game with nine rebounds, three steals, and even accounted for three of the team's six blocks.
The youth team -- training for the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (Seaba) Championship for Junior Men on May 1 -- outscored the Shoe Stars, 27-9, in the fourth quarter.

With the victory, the Shoe Stars boosted their quarterfinal bid with a 6-7 record.

Andrian Celada paced the Shoe Stars with 12 points built on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting clip.

Impressive stat for Torres. He can still grow at least 2 inches.RPYT gave Noosa a scare. they limit Noosa for 9 pts while scoring 27 pts. this RPYT shows improvement. Hope Pascual will do good like Norbert Torres.

Torres is based in Toronto, Canada whose parents are from Calumpit, Bulacan while Pascual is based in California, whose father is from Manila and mother from Cebu.

Sangalang is from Pampanga brought in by SBP regional director Gil Cortez. He came in a little late, and failed to join the team’s two-week training in the US.

Pumaren said the team has become more flexible on the entry of Torres, Pascual and Sangalang.

“With their entry, I can be flexible. I can play big and I can play small,” said Pumaren.

The RP boys open their campaign in Kuala Lumpur against the host team on May 1.

lets cross our fingers that this tall young guns of the philippine rp team can bring home the bacon.
 
There's also a couple of younger guys than Mathew and Norbert who are also tall at least 6' 4". They are born '92.

Adrian Estavillo and JR Gallarza. Adrian plays more of power forward/center while JR plays point guard.

There's also Jim Ochinang - a small point guard with deadly outside shots and super quick feet. The only thing is he is only about 5' 8".
 
They dropped Jeric Teng out of the lineup since he's young and could develop that skill another year. I think Coach Franz gave him some pep talk and he'd play again for the RP Youth Team if we need one again next year.

He's in grade 11 am I correct? (Well, I've read that he's in grade 11)

That's not a problem...I'm sure Pumaren has already asked Norbert about other very good young players in Toronto.

well we can't assume that, still its a possibility but we ca never be so sure if Pumaren inquired about those other ballers
