isnt that exactly the same thing we did to korea in 2013?

Totally different... Gilas also played too in that same day as Koreans, usually host schedule is always 8 pm, Korea played their game at 10 pm that time, their semis sched was 8 pm... So still reasonable... Meanwhile look at recent schedule... Korea (or Bahrain) will play their game today at 8 pm and they will play tomorrow at 12 pm (If win)... the in time rest between games was only about 14 hrs... Your point last 2013, They atleast have 20 hrs... And China have 2 day rest too... So totally unfair for those two teams against on the part of host...

Gilas Womens facing South Korea in the quarterfinals tonight at 8 pm

The reason why Gilas women play S. Korea not N. Korea is because of draw... But again, The host didn't tell the exact format of qualification for QF... usually it will go thru quotient... But it didn't... I don't know why the host China still doing this despite they are always favorites... Only Japan are their main rival in womens event..

PRK and CHN weightlifters are on something.

No surprise as China is hosting.

I need Korea to return to proper form and beat them, better matchup for us

Maybe but China already cook Korea before the games start... Korea will have only atleast 14 hrs of rest before facing China in the QF... That's brutal already....

Arvin Tolentino is thrash, don't ever include that dude in any gilas iteration. Chris Ross and Cio are retireable right now still like our chances againts Iran tomorrow. Sa China if no cooking show we have a slight shot haha

Agree people were hyping Tolentino because of what he has done with Northport where he has the green light to shoot, the guy is able to put up points because he is their best shooter but he is a defensive liability at the wing position. Ross and Lassitier have slowed down and I think this should be the last time they are called up for the national team. But Im hoping that they get past Iran tomorrow and advance to the semifinals. And if somehow Gilas wins against China in the semifinals to me that is equivalent of a gold medal already lol

Gilas women hugely missed the services of Vanessa De Jesus, Ella Fajardo, Joson, etc... If we have those players, we have a chance to beat Koreans....

They're resting key players in the 2nd half, yeah its gonna be almost impossible but all they need is a hot shooting night

Not quite sure why everyone is praising the "ball movement" on social media, it's basically bara bara plays, extremely disorganized, it's far from Europeans where everything is calculated and part of their system. It's nice to see them making extra passes though but still ugly to look at. It might work against weak opponents like Qatar but for Iran? Good freakin luck.

I don't know, but i don't see them winning vs China on their home... The last time Asian team beat China on their home was way back in 2009 FIBA Asia cup finals when Iran beat China on their home... I will not count Australia and NZL because they are originally from Asia....

Gilas might win vs Iran, If Brownlee goes superhuman, But if not, We will lose....

As long as we want bigs from our Gilas women to upgrade their size, I still think Vannesa De Jesus is the perfect fit for Gilas women naturalized player moving forward... w/ her, we have a scorer who can impact the floor just like JC for mens counterpart... Only thing coach Pat will do is to elevate young Gilas bigs from junior team to help Animam inside....

Gilas women ends their campaign after suffer their defeat to Korea 93-71…

Politics is still premium in Gilas.. This team is without pba best big man in standhardinger (although declared retired) and best pg scorer shooter in mikey williams. is like Yao ming is prepared to "bring it on" when he declared the Asiad as passport only tournament..

I think Arvin Tolentino is just a natural 4 unlike Oftana who is a natural small forward. Problem is, at 6-foot-5. Tolentino is undersized as a 4 in FIBA or international basketball & he isn't athletic, strong & physical for that position. I would rather have a William Navarro at Gilas than an Arvin Tolentino.

I think Lassiter is just struggling adjusting to the triangle & I think he's not 100% in playing form. Remember, he is among the 5 replacements who joined the team barely a week before the basketball competition of the Asiad started.

I dont know, in one "highlight" that i saw, it's clearly a case of over-passing, that led to a still contested , difficult layup by JB.

In that sequence, when the ball found its way to JMF, he was already on his sweet spot and his defender seemingly defeated , BUT JMF still made a pass to the corner, which led to 4 + more passes, up to that JB layup.
