New accounts of people who are supposedly banned here. Look at their creation dates and biases and the way they put their sentences together.

Definitely. We can see through that and their biases. They tried to hide that and play 'neutral', now we can see their colors shining through. Some bleed propaganda haha

Agreed. Some Pinoy forumers here think that basketball is some esoteric sport that only a handful of countries care about. They can't seem to wrap their head around the fact that basketball has become global.

It’s the most accessible sport for the majority with genetic constraints.

I met a Senegalese dude back in Paris who was 6’4 and he told me basketball is what tall guys play if they suck at football or too tall for any football position.

He tried to be a goalkeeper and centreback in football but sucked at both.

He made a good shooting guard in basketball instead.

Yeah keep ignoring my points, really helping your argument.

The rest of the world is now quivering in their shoes after we bet Bahrain with 2, no excuse me 5 naturalized players!

Ok, Graham Lim. LMAO

Same! Though from the late 90s pa. QatarGas? RasGas? Lol.

My dad was a contractor for both QG and RG. ABB or Siemens ata. I think both companies merged and are now QatarEnergy LNG. I studied in a British-stream school outside Al Khor community.

Migrated to the US in ‘08 after my mom (a nurse) secured our papers.

FIBA should give them ultimatum (just what they did to Indonesia) to avoid shame in the main event… A top 8 placer in FIBA Asia cup should be the target if they want to play in 2027 WC…

Yeah lol It’s totally unfair to more deserving teams. Australia is already a lock which leaves only six slots for PH, China, Korea, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iran to contend.

Just watched the whole game replay. This is my opinion for the game.

Positives:

Ball movement much better than the world cup team.
Impressive to see the players who never played the triangle before run it relatively well.
They were doing triangle reversals, pinch posts, blind pigs. Refreshing to see a Gilas that actually plays team ball and takes advantage of the gravity of certain players. (Last time was with Tab)

Negatives:

The triangle really does not give too much 3 point opportunities. Despite the good ball movement, it is just a function of the primitive offense.
Junemar still is a liability on defense. You can see Bahrain running pick and rolls against Junemar, and despite Bahrain's guards relatively low skill level, they are still able to score against him.
You can see our wing players have to help against the rollmen of Junemar leaving open threes. We are in danger of better shooting teams because of this.

Takeaway:

At this stage of time. Tim Cone is no doubt a better FIBA coach than Reyes. However, his system despite the wrinkles he added still does not play and take advantage of the percentages. Total attempted threes is too low for modern basketball.

This team will never jack up threes for everyones pleasure.. they will take enouht threes sa tamang panahon..contrary to popular belief the back bone of Ginebra championship teams are three pount shooting see pringle against bbay area and the buzzer beater 3 pointer of Brownlee against meralco

And how many 3's did Germany made n their world cup clinching game?

you realize that you're showing your true colors as a gilas hater? we don't need you here, just stay there in new zealand, don't they discuss basketball over there or maybe no one listens to you?

Hater ? You realize I've contributed to the Gilas program more than anyone here , the Reyes's are good friends and I've continued to help and support both senior and youth teams.
when did objective assessment to call out flaws become hate ? If it is we might as well all shut up and not complain about all the inefficiences and flaws of how our government operates.

now since this is the Asian games therad let me call out one specific flaw on how we do things.
- look at the young cadet team Japan entered that had training for moths in parallel with their World cup team, while we have a team half of ineligibles and an average age over 30 plus . GO figure which is better planning and management or are we all haters for calling out again again how bad the federation operates?

In Chot's own words we should be sending Cadets to games ( SEA and Asian)

Where in Qatar? I lived in Al Khor from 2004-08.

Yeah, it’s obvious. Still a better deal than having it in Saudi though.

Looking at Qatar’s team get trumpled by 30+ by a Japanese B team, they got their work cut out for them.

Will four years be enough time to form a competitive good enough by 2027?

with all the natural gas Qatar has, it’s doable for them to assemble a competitive team. They can naturalise and source their players from around the world. Yes they have four years to scour and summon promising talents with enticing sights of money bundles. They prefer players from Islamic countries as evidence of Bosnian and Senegalese players in their national side. I could also suggest if they take a look at American teenage players with Moslem background…

I agre on this composition, with some PBA players for support, like an 8 to 4 will be just right.

Problem is that Hagop rule.

They can’t simply naturalize established talent. They need to do that prior to those guys turning 16.

yes they are already doing it as least 6 of their current players in Hangzhou Asiad moved to emirate as early as young age of 14… for me there is nothing wrong with it, yes if a particular country has resources to naturalise even the whole 12 crew then go for it…

Except none of those guys showed any real quality. I don’t know but it looks very grim for now.

Even if they naturalize an NBA level talent in 2027 like RHJ, it won’t be enough.

FIBA needs to grow some balls and impose the same conditions as they did with Indonesia in 2023 WC.

Germany took 22 threes, making 7. 2/5 of their 55 shots came drom there.

But honestly, I'd include defense in the Ginebra backbone. Their threes are more timely than frequent, e.

Lived at the Al Khor community. It was pretty barren when I first got there but it so different now? Was it DESS? My sisters studied in there before. Small world lol. If you guys lived inside the community we probably know your family as the Filipino community there was pretty tight back then

Come they didn't even try hard to hide it.

I'd honestly just stop replying to obvious trolls. Handle name pa lang and you know that they're just here to incite negativity

Same roster for Japan for Jones Cup and Asian Games?

15 three pointers. If that's not moving in the right direction for their program, I don't know what is.

Hong Kong Legend Lee Ki still playing! This dude was in Manila in 2013 with Duncan Reid.

Taipei's Long Hair Tseng Wen Ting also with their NT. Probably his retirement tournament?
