In another sport, the Malditas have their first game tomorrow against Hong Kong.

Things get tougher from there, though, as we face SoKor and Myanmar next. Hope we get at least 3 points against these girls.
Are you referring to our women’s football team? I thought they’re called Filipinas now?

Why you teaching other posters here how to be gamblers? I’ve been notice that if anyone disagree with you, you will tell “wanna bet?” Or you tell some posters some negativity… get your life bro…

so that they will be not like you who is a madam auring wannabe who cannot put his money where his mouth is but speaks like he sees the future

Manama Bahrain playing right now in FIBA intercontinental cup… most of those players are part of their national team, I don’t know if those players can make in time for Bahrain in Asian games next week

.

Their last game in Singapore FIBA Intercontinental will on 24th and their first game in Asian Games on 26th…. So there is at least one day allowance in between these two tournaments… In the squad which is now in Singapore only 2 players were in 2023 Pre-Olympic qualifiers last August and they are Rasheed brothers (Mustapa “Mosti” and Ali). And their star swingman Zee Hamoda is reportedly returned with Sacramento State for incoming US NCAA season. So most likely their starting unit in Hangzhou will be quite different from the crew that gained a berth for 2024 Olympic qualifying tournament. Well, if that’s the case our Gilas has an edge against them… I posted before that Bahrain in Asiad in stronger than Gilas well I should have waited till participating teams has release their respective rosters. My bad…

RHJ was only naturalized weeks before the WC.

I was referring to their second round form in the WCQ. It wasn’t great and they relied heavily on Al-Dwairi and Tucker to bail them out.

If Korea was there, Jordan would have had trouble than facing India. They qualified because India was not a challenger.

Yeah… Tucker is good but he’s a normal import if he plays in the PBA.. he might be axed by any PBA team even he put good numbers because he’s not an impact player (he was even outplayed by JB in their match last February).. but with RHJ, he’s so very talented and he goes all out… I just say if no JB and RHJ for TNT and Ginebra, I will put my money on ginebra every day… but RHJ can make things happen for TNT that even they are heavy underdogs, they manage to beat Ginebra’s star studded line up.. same goes for Jordan.. they even hang on vs Greece in the first 3 qtrs before Jordan can’t hang on vs more talented Greeks… I was hoping he was being naturalized by SBP.. he’s very fit for young gilas bigs such as AJ and Kai… but SBP wasted that opportunity… w/ RHJ leading them, Jordan can still manage to qualify for 2027 WC.. RHJ is just only 30 something, still on his prime years…

Are you referring to 2023 Dar Tucker? because Pre-pandemic Dar Tucker is GOAT.

I’m not doubting RHJ’s skills. I know what he brings to the table.

My point was Jordan would have struggled to qualify (and probably not had) if Korea made the second round in the WCQ. Even with RHJ, Korea is simply a better all around team with Ratliffe unstoppable on the low post. Remember, Jordan lost to Korea twice in the 2019 WCQ and they had a better team back then.

Are you referring to 2023 Dar Tucker? because Pre-pandemic Dar Tucker is GOAT.

Tucker was solid in the 2019 WCQ and Zaid Abbas could still contribute back then. That Jordan team was better than the 2023 WCQ, I’d argue. Played better team ball, had good size, and their veterans could still deliver.

You can tell the 2023 WC-bound Jordan struggled after calling Zaid Abbas from retirement. They truly lacked depth

PHL Asian Games NT will have a scrimmage tomorrow vs LG Sakers, who just lost to the UP Maroons 88-85.

Gilas should avoid being no.3 seeded team… they have a good draw this Asian games… This is the chance that they can make it atleast semifinal round… Iran w/o Haddadi is slightly less worry than having Haddadi in the line up… Is still Kazakhstan a strong team? I bet KSA are better than them already… anyway Gilas have advantage against either Iran or KSA/Kazakhstan…

Agree. Saudi Arabia is expected to be the better team in the Asian Games compared to Kazakhstan. The Kazakhstan team in the recent Pre-olympic Qualifiers sucked.

I think with Haddadi's retirement, Iran is expected to send a rebuilding team spearheaded by the 18-year old 6-foot-7 wingman Mohammed Amini who was a revelation for Iran in the recent World Cup. I think some veterans like Behnam Yakchali would be in the Asiad as well as some young & developmental players including those that Gilas faced in that pocket in China. That Iran developmental team in that pocket tournament in China has some promising young players.

I'm confident if ever Gilas faces Iran in the Asian Games, we will win.

Zee Hamoda not playing in the Asian Games would be a significant loss for Bahrain especially since the team doesn't have depth. Their star point guard 5-foot-10 Mustafa Rashed is expected to be heavily defended by Chris Ross & Chris Newsome. Mustafa Rashed is a deadshot from the 3, but his size could be his downside & he's not athletic.

Dont underestimate the older hamooda hemight be serviceable 3 or 4 thatn can affect brownlees legs

Women's Football: We're currently up 1-0 against Hong Kong after a 9th minute penalty.

We're also trying out a new formation. Under Stajcic, we're in a 4-4-2. Now, looks like we're in a 4-2-3-1. More attacking-minded too.
