19th Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou China

Sbp can add Cstand and rosser for Asian games since OCA rules will be implemented there…

I think hihiritan nina MVP this time si Mikey Williams. We could see his debut for Gilas this time out. Mikey, Ross, Lassiter, etc.
 
Question, could Kouame and Brownlee play together this Asiad ala Cambodia naturalize players altogether last Sea Games?

Depends on China’s mood when it comes to home cooking.

I’m betting ‘no’ considering their roster will likely be 100% natural born Chinese and they don’t want “mercenaries” handing their asses to them.

cross out Cstand as he has retired from the National team, and Ginebra might want to preserve him for the EASL, BGR (is a must to fast track his FIBA exemption) should take his place

Sir it should be BGR, sadly MGR is already a lost cause.
 
AK34 should also be part of that narrative..even though many of us here in IBNverse are loosing hope for his exemption, putting him in the AG lineup is really a must...the more merits the better.
 
So sad to see that we are talking about just making a pool of players and almost all the names are from the pba save for those who is practising with gilas.
whatever eye opener Thirdy did in Japan, rj and rhenz in kbl we still stick with the pba players. Give chance to non-pba players. Kahit pool player lng. The future of PH basketball are all outside the pba. Proof? Who is on a pba rookie contract in the current gilas pool?

only malonzo and oftana ata, the rest are in their early to mid 30s (fees like we’ll be the oldest team in the World Cup)

I double checked, both of them signed extensions as their rookie contracts expired last year (diff months).

Pero di ba, who are the most important players after JC? Kai and dwight, both outside the PBA. I keep seeing konov or caelum or whoever should be in whatever tournament. Why not start putting them in the pool? Sure, maybe not available this coming asian games but if we look at it differently, why not make an expanded pool where we will get playera for majority of the international games? Dagdag ng hugot if most are not available for spwcific games. Otherwise, get from the pool. If thats how we will do it, then the pool will need to be mix of where players are from because non fiba games the bleague and kbl players wont be available, and pba playpff times, we might not be able to get there. Collegiate and a little from nonPBA local tes would need to be tapped. Dreaming is good and we shouldnt stop. Pero ang ginto sa lupa nakukuha. Sbp should always grow from the ground up. And fans should always demand that as well.

When is the uaap? The only amateur guys that I would like to add are Ballungay and LeBron Lopez. Mikey Williams is a must in this Asian Games. Stanley Pringle as well as additional stabilizer.

We will see how serious SBP is in this Asian Games if they still managed and conviced Kai to suit up.

mikey williams? can he play as a local? i agree on balungay but not francis lopez.

Yes sir he can, even if China employs the eligibility rules that Korea did way back 2014 (the 3 year residency). He'll meet the criteria. Only question is can SBP convince him kasi last Sea Games he already begged off from Gilas.

All good. Since i am only saying we add to the pool i would invite any of the following to start things off:

From admu amos, ballungay, and gamber
From dlsu mike phillips, kquiam, policarpio
From up gagante, pablo, lopez,
From feu anonuevo and pre
ust sj moore

im not too familiar with the other teams yet including those in the ncaa but im pretty sure we can add to the pool.

Those not in the pba yet but finished with uni would be 1gdl, paras, tuffin, the ue wing whose name escapes me, lastimosa, and dalph

this is a good SEA Games lineup as a starting point.
 
We will use uaap ncaa team b players for Asian Games 3x3, shows you that borrowing uaap satrs for asian games is quite far fetched
