What if we just send the entire Ginebra team in the 2023 Asian Games? On paper, the Ginebra team is solid with the likes of Japeth, Standhardinger, Malonzo, Gray, Pringle, Iskati Thompson with Justin Brownlee as the naturalized player & coach Tim Cone as the head coach. But the most important thing is, the team already has a built-in cohesion/chemistry. Just give the team 3 weeks of practice/training & this team is ready to rumble.

I understand that the 2023-2024 PBA season might start late September or early October which would be in conflict with the Asian Games, but the PBA can schedule its games wherein wala munang games ang Ginebra in the first 2 weeks of the PBA season. Kunting adjustment & sacrifice lang naman yan. I think its very doable.

Im seeing Ginebra with Parks, wright and other smc stars.. and imagine RJ Abarrientos palying for Tim Cone even for this tournament only as the la tenorio replacement

good group for us. i wonder if theyll add a couple of players who arent part of WC group? i hope so to give future players some extra exposure.

OT but wth,

If you believe the papers, they got a pool of 400+ Fil-Am girls. Frilles, Ceasar, Flanigan, and Jota were worth keeping in the squad for the future... the U20 squad back in March (which included Pasion) happen to be the best of the bunch. Tuloy sa Don Bosco FC produces the best homegrown girls now because they play consistently with their men's team, they're a legit football academy in Alabang disguised as an orphanage. Their education is basic, they mostly teach vocational skills as opposed to university-level subjects and football is their only P.E.

As a Don Bosco graduate, I can't say I'm surprised at teaching vocational skill. A lot of Don Bosco institutions do that. Even us in the high school program had to learn how to work in machine shops and electrical labs. I specialized in machine shop myself.

As for football, it's pretty big in Don Bosco schools. Big influence from the Italian Salesians, though, they loved football. Guess that's how we in Don Bosco Mandaluyong have a bit of a football tradition, and probably the other Don Bosco institutions as well.

Speaking of Italian Salesians, I wonder how much money they made when they sold Amici and Caramia... their pizza, pastas, and gellato was way more authentic before it became mainstream.

Anyone wondering how China will cheat in the Asian games? hahaha

Besides the usual favorable scheduling and giving their opponents as little time to rest before they face them I could see them using their old tactics of delaying bus services of opposing teams and the usual biased officiating. And seeing Choke is still the coach I doubt China even considers Gilas a top 3 threat to them.

I guess that is why China moved heaven and hell to cheat Baldwin's team. They knew he had it in him to beat the land grabbers.

Hope we can score against Myanmar this time. In the SEA Games, they kept a clean sheet, and we conceded a penalty.

SoKor will be tough. We better park the bus against them.

Good opportunity to develop players. Hope we can pick some talented homegrowns. There have been some revelations in the PFF Women's League like Tuloy.

Who will be there in the event? Jordan and Lebanon always not joining in Asian Games, Are they joining now? Japan will be w/o NBAers Rui and Yuta, So their strength will be weakened.. Korea might be the biggest rival of China... Taiwan is not a threat too... same as Iran, Gilas still top 3 here, unless Jordan and Lebanon will join finally in Asian Games....

I would love a Gilas team composed of the bulk of the 2023 World Cup Gilas pool (minus Junmar, Japeth, Erram, Pogoy, Newsome), plus maybe a No. of young players, to play in the 2023 Asian Games for the sake of continuity & long term program. But with Gilas PBA players & Japan B-league players no longer available by that time, wala tayong choice but to contend with whoever are available.

The bulk of 2023 WC lineup can play in the coming Asian Games, because most of the Asian leagues will start after the ASIAN GAMES. So the B.League Boys, KBL and even the PBA players can play this coming Asian Games

Problem is, during the time of the Asian Games, that is the start of training camp of B-league, KBL & PBA teams as well for the their respective 2023-2024 seasons. I think those leagues will open their respective seasons early October.

Likely that Kai sotto might not join for Asian games… they were hard to commit him for the World Cup then don’t expect him to play for less prestige asian games…
