that's one way of demoralizing all of your athletes

In the woke era this might be a statement, but back then its a word of endearment for basketball and its coming form an ex basketball player..

The hashtag "Chinese men's basketball lost twice to Philippines in 32 days" received 28 million views on Chinese social media site Weibo

After the game, Wang Shipeng, a famous Chinese men's basketball player who served as the commentator for this game, said in the program: "In the entire Asian Games, I don't care whether our goal is to win 180 or 200 gold medals this year. Basketball is the final battle of all sports. If this If I lose a gold medal, I think there is no point in winning so many gold medals..."

They also said that Gilas won with only 12 days of preparation.

That shows evidence that basketball is the no.1 sport in China... That's why i'm not believe that Cricket is the no.2 while Basketball is just no.3 popular sport in the world, India and China have same massive population over and not all Indians like Cricket as also in Chinese in basketball... If we play numbers, Outside India, only cricket playing countries are Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal, while it's a top 5 sport in NZL, Australia and England... But the rest, cricket is just a niche sport or almost unknown to the rest... While Basketball outside China, there are Philippines, Bahamas, South Sudan, Lithuania, Estonia and Lebanon are countries that basketball is their no.1 sport while the difference here is that more countries (almost all) that basketball is their no.2 sport... countries such as Spain, Jordan, Israel, Turkey, Taiwan, US, Greece, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Nigeria, Angola, Puerto Rico, DR, Venezuela, Syria, etc.... treats basketball as their number 2 sport... Numbers wise, Basketball should be ahead of cricket as no.2 most popular sport...

Would the Chinese have the fire & intensity for the battle for the bronze verus Taiwan? Prior to this tournament, I think the Chinese were envisioning themselves of playing for the gold medal match & not the battle for the bronze.

Our 3rd Gold medal came again in Ju Jitsu, As Ms. Annie Ramirez won in Gold medal match vs Kazakhstan foe... Would we have taught that the sport Ju Jitsu will be our Gold medal mine haul in this Asian Games... Thanks to Ju Jitsu federation for being a good federation despite limited budget... They should be the hail as the Best sport federation of the year award... w/o them, we just stick to 1 gold in this event.... While also bronze medal also came from Ju Jitsu too, as Ms. Napolis beat UAE foe in bronze medal match... Totally we have now 3 Golds, 2 silvers and 12 bronze... As our Sepak Takraw team lost to Malaysia in semis match, Thus, they will earn bronze medal....

I think China will go modern moving forward, they could just easily do spain defense on taiwan and this is over but no.. modern ball tayu

We are now back to top 20... thanks to Ju Jitsu athletes that would we have taught that they are the saviors of PHL contingent... We still have more Ju Jitsu players tomorrow and on Sunday... Who knows? They are the ones who can level our Gold medal tally last 2018.... If we won another Gold medal whatever sports contribute, We will be in top 15 finish...

This is the hardest game China is playing so far in terms of the mental aspect since they no longer have that drive & enthusiasm in the game as they were relegated to the battle for 3rd place. But despite of that, the team had to win this game to redeem whatever lost pride they had after that semifinal defeat against Gilas. Its like wala ka nang gana maglaro but U really have to win to avoid further ridicule by the fans.

Taipei does not have what the Philippines has - Asian-level athleticsm of guards. I bet no one in Taipei can beat Scottie, CJ, Alas, Bolick, and RJ.

I think Taiwanese players don't have the physicality to match Asian teams who play rough & physical basketball. I think that's the edge of teams like China, Korea, Gilas, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran over Chinese Taipei. The Taiwanese are more of a finesse team.

Taiwan also lacks quality bigs. As we have seen in the Asian Games, they recalled Tseng "Long Hair" Win Teng from retirement as the team has yet to produce a quality center of Long Hair's caliber (during his prime). But Taiwan basketball is known for producing quality wings & guards.

After trailing by 3 pts at halftime, the Chinese woke up in the 2nd half to outscore Taiwan by a whopping 31 pts in the 2nd half to win 101-73.

U must watch 6-foot-2 wingman Mohammed Al Bachir Gadiaga a. k. a. "Abbasi". He is such a skilled & athletic wingman who can slash & shoot from the 3. He's among the top scorer of Taiwan in the Asian Games.

Jamie Lim failed to advance in the semis as she loss a close match against her Kazakh opponent
