With the national team not reverting tp SMART Gilas days, should we call them Barangay Gilas now?

same results we beat china in wc and asian games.. will its still not able to get the goal (olympic slot , gold)

yet somehow it is more satisfying seeing the team winning against opponents we uhhh feared (?), SoKor, Iran, Japan, China. There's something about a competitive winning culture that looks good, and can't be replicated by any amount of drama.

If we win Gold....Long hair will get a different vibe here.

He is a factor on and off the court. Off court his management skills. On court, you can see it clearly that every time a player goes back to the bench...Long hair talks to them and motivates them even if they had a bad game (e.g. Alas on vs Iran).

Long hair = winning at all cost and great motivator.
How the hell did Chot get the motivational coach career? Players give up on games with Chot. Even Cone gave up the game vs China but players still NSD.

Whether we win the Asiad gold or not, I hope this is the start of something great for Gilas basketball and keeps them hungry for more international success. I'm now looking forward to the FIBA-sanctioned events in hopes of progressing more against their regular Asian opponents and of course, get closer or have better results vs. Australia and NZ. With SMC's influence, I hope LH can convince the PBA board of govs to fix the season schedule that would allow for seamlessly fitting of the FIBA games within each PBA season in the foreseeable future.

China cancelling the post game press conference after its very close defeat to Gilas in the semis only shows its unsportsmanlike attitude & a bitter loser.

They can't bear to speak to the press after that massive choke job. I mean, as a host and a global sporting superpower expected to repeat as gold medalists, who could? The game should have been in their bag when they took a 76-67 lead late in the 4th.

TBF. Yao Ming ordered the coaches and players to talk to the media when he learned no one showed up for the post game interviews, and he apologized to the press after it was initially cancelled. Problem is, the media people have deadline to meet so only a few attended the "make-up" press con

We will get 2 or 3 if yulo and finnegan performed, w estarting to have a world class not asian level weightlifting team. For boxing we still need to work on lower weight divisions

When Ricky Vargas is your ABAP Pres you know already nowhere to go but down haha.

Chot: Learning experience
Cone: We grown from that Jordan game.

Need to retire Learning to Growing haha to not get bashed

Ed Piczon was the man that made ABAP relevant again. His death created a big vacuum.

Yessir he is sort of a GodFather of boxing the past decades replacing him by Robbie Puno we know is not a boxing guy, our boxing landscape is a mess right now even kids on province will go become vloggers or tiktokers now lolz.

If CT somehow wins bronze, they are the best men's basketball teams in this Asian games. Who would have thought?

The hashtag "Chinese men's basketball lost twice to Philippines in 32 days" received 28 million views on Chinese social media site Weibo

After the game, Wang Shipeng, a famous Chinese men's basketball player who served as the commentator for this game, said in the program: "In the entire Asian Games, I don't care whether our goal is to win 180 or 200 gold medals this year. Basketball is the final battle of all sports. If this If I lose a gold medal, I think there is no point in winning so many gold medals..."

They also said that Gilas won with only 12 days of preparation.

Korea's guns are blazing and on a verge of avenging their group game loss to Japan

Jordan will have more motivation to win the Gold in the 5x5 basketball... Overall, Jordan doesn't win any Gold yet in entire Asian Games... So expect a grudge game for both teams... This could be their 1st Gold for Jordan if they win tonight and first ever West Asian country since 1970 after Israel, still part of Asian competitions before won the gold in Asian Games....

lol on korea this would have been a podium finish if kim jong kyu palyed on that japan game
