Let's see if Spain can keep their winning streak or maybe Turkey could take advantage on home court and supporting crowd.

In order to take advantage of home court, you must have some quality to some extent. Unfortunately, Spanish quality outweighs us by a long chalk. No matter what, I will watch the game in hall just to witness the last shows of Gasol.

Turkey couldn't take advantage of their homecourt last round, I don't see any reason why they would start now.

This current incarnation of Turkey's NT may not be as talented as in past tournaments, but still has what it takes to beat Spain. The recipe is well known by now: slow down the game, take a lot of three pointers, pack the paint, and foul as often as needed to keep Spain out of their running game and easy baskets. I'd say Turkey can be competent in all of those tasks, and if they stick to this game plan they'll have a chance.

On the other hand, Spain must keep a cool head and try to build a sizeable lead step by step to avoid a close 4th quarter which, historically, has been a coin toss for us. Spain is the clear favourite here, but it's going to be much harder than we're used to. Thanks again to Croatia for giving us a good warning call.

Nothing would please me more than a Turkish victory but unfortunately the propbality for this game outcome is 10 to the power of -100.

for some reason I remembered Eurobasket 2001, which was again held in Turkey. We had played first against Latvia and then Spain.
that Spain team was just transitioning into the Navarro, Gasol, F. Reyes, Raul Lopez generation.
any way, that game was extremely controversial in the eyes of Spanish, with constant protests, head coach showing his pockets to the refs etc...

this game will not even have a chance to get controversial imho. unless Mahmutoglu pulls a Kutluay, and Cedi a Lebron.

I'm the only person thus far who voted Turkey. I think Turkey can make a surprise

that is 10^32 times smaller probability than the odds of shuffling a deck of cards into the right order.
and that means we have to play like 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times more than the total number of atoms in the whole universe to beat them.
You are optimistic :D.

That. Turkey knows they got nothing to lose and will play with that mentality so any tight ending could fall on their side.

My prediction Spain, my hope Turkey
Chances are 90:10
This 10 is just because homecourt and Cedi. I couldn't say Mahmutoglu but he is good:D
Sarica must do better job then against Latvia. First time in this tournament that team was better then him.

In my deepest dreams i see Turkey winning that.. i hope for that, i hope home court advantage and a loud crowd to push that team in every way.. i know it is difficult but it is the only way that Spain can lose a match in this tournament.

they will need a smarter osman, but it's ok he is to young to be a mental leader, and Erden make the game of his life...

If only Kanter was there...

Well, Turkey was the host and they needed a win to advance to the next round. It was in everyone's best interests, so they got it. Colucci was always there for them when they needed him most.

That pissed me off because the loss placed us in the same bracket as Yugoslavia, which was unbeatable. As a result we only got bronze and not silver. Right now it seems petty, but in 2001 Spain's resume was quite short and the difference between a 2nd and 3rd place was huge in my eyes.

Yep, we can say goodbye with a good showing though hopefully. We had a decent go so far, all we could ask really, Russia loss was key, if you miss 3 lay ups in a row late in tight game at this level it bites hard.

This will be a close game and I think Spain will win. I hope they don't. I'm tired of Spain winning everywhere :D

Except the Spaniards, the majority of the bb fans would be happy with a Turkish win. Very unlikely though.

Spain will win this. Turkey's squad just doesn't have enough capacity to beat Spain. Even in front of a home crowd. When the opponent is better, they are better.

Spain is the best team in tournament, it will be easy for them.

This game ll be like between Turkish youth and Spanish senior team. In order to get a win here, our youngsters ll have to do something extraordinary which is very unlikely to happen considering current performances&capacities. Still, all games of Tr have been close till now no matter who wins. Hopefully it ll be the same tomorrow.
