italy's win

italy's win

Also if Bellinelli uses the same decision making in his shot selection, as he does in tattoo artists then Israel can upset them :D

i think we can't take the chance of losing this match, we have to be carefull in defense, putting in court some players as cousin and polonara, as well i prefer cinciarini at haccket, it wasn't a great season for him it's true too that we have more leaders but our true problem is the chemistry still, i guess a closer game so that italy team cannnot manage the result of the game.

Italy is averaging 11.8 ppg more. Why should then the difference be 30-40 points?! :-)))
You are great in inventing things. You cannot just take any single Italian player and say that he can score 20 points in the game. There is just one ball and 40 minutes to play in a regular game. Not enough shots for everybody to score this amount of points.

BTW, statistically, Israel concedes 74.5 ppg, while Italy gives up 86.8 ppg. That's a difference of 12.3 ppg. More than Italy is gaining on offense. And we have to consider that Israel has basically tanked one game. What's also interesting, Italy has scored exactly the same number of points they have conceded.
Stats can bring you so far :-)

As it was mentioned, so far, Italy was unable to put anyone away. They've had opponents with different styles. Slow basketball, fast basketball, tall centers, shooters... a great offensive display but not more. Being #16 in rebounding in this championship, despite having tall, mobile and athletic guys on the roster, while taking a ton of shots, is absolutely not good.

Still, Italy is the favourite. Maybe, simple for the reason that Israel is not a tough as nails group on defense as it used to be before and rather has smooth scorers. Also, Israel is shooting much less from the outside than it used to do before. It does so very effectively (40%) but not enough in numbers to spread the floor well.

But... the beauty of basketball is that the game is over, when the final whistle has sounded.

By the way, a -10 is not a success in knock-out stage. It means that you are out. Either you win (success) or you lose (no success). It's not like Israel is playing Team USA and is sure to be out, while the margin counts for self-respect.
france could won by 30 easily and italy is at least same level as france anyway i said +20 not +40

We played against France without Casspi, Lior and Mekel. So nothing to judge by that.
Italy winning by 20 or more? I'd say it's less likely than an Israeli victory.

Italy is favorites, but israel will have their chances. Its depends alot how those italians bricks will fall tonight :) But this years italys games is always fun to watch.

can't hear the commentators well at all on the English-language stream.

I just wanted to write that Israel is playing by Italian notes and than Casspi got a nice pass down low to Fischer...

Just drive and post drive and post. In 3rd quarter they will fall apart,

Impressive the tournament by Bargnani in both ends of the floor, really the key for Italia, as their frontcourt is their weak point, and his play & effort has been great considering the player we've been seeing the last few years.

I don't think unless Israel starts posting down low they would win a run and gun competition with the Italians. Zone is a simmilary terrible idea imo.
I think it was you (CoachZ) saying cooling Italy down and making sure they don't throw every 5 seconds is a good way to make sure some of their players don't feel like getting enough posessions out there.

And Fischer as if plans to camp up there high at FT line... ?!

As usual Italy's games are nice to watch. Their good offense and null defense are perfect for neutral fans.

Italy winning the rebounding, so far they won the rebounds only against Iceland and were close with the Germans (1 reb of difference)

Gentile is the best player on the floor on both ends... easily...

We play just the way they want us to, gotta slow it down, make their defense work and close the shooters on the other hand.
And why the hell did we shoot twice with 10 seconds to go in the quarter ends? We just gave away 5 points this way
