After a bad start, Spain finished the group with a thrilling game and now they are off to Lille to face Poland. Poland has already showed they are not easy meat and can cause an upset if you underestimate them. The rising star Ponitka, experienced Gortat and Slaughter will at least try to catch weak points of Spain.

As I said on some other occasions Spain will have to improve their intensity, however unlike in previous championships they don't have the whole 2nd stage group to do that, those were 3 games, they'll now have to do that immediately in one game and I don't buy that they're perfectly capableto do that out of the blue.
Spain will create troubles to Poland with their speed and mobility throughout the team, Mirotić will be hard to cover for the Poles. Poland has to manage to slow down the pace, provide the ball to Gortat to play a good inside game (questionmark nevertheless), try to ger Pau out of the game etc.
Generaly teams with as big advantage in experience in so many competitions rarely let their chance slip against not as quality opponents, I don't think Spain would do that against Poland either.

I suppose of the game.

Is it because of an injury, or is it part of the plan, rest him while playing with the scrubs?
If is is the latter, I should call the guys in our NT, tell them to start preparing for Poland :)

No plan, no injury, only arrogance. Gasol will rest too.

You're kidding. I thought people were joking when they suggested Greece rest starters against Belgium, but to actually do it? If this is true I'd be happy to see Poland embarrass them.

Dtown, if Gasol rests today all the team will rest for all remaining Eurobasket. He is 50% of the team.

Impossible not to love our gentle neighbors. Perhaps I think the worst and all these blue jerseys are the second color of Poland.

Spain should replace the spanish flag on their jerseys with a picture of Pau.As Navarro mentioned above he trully looks like he is the one keeping this team together

Poland looks so fast and so energetic .Spain is keeping with them only because 3pointers is falling until now. This game can be become very interesting in second half,i thought spain was fooling around in group and will begin to play their playoffs basketball intensity. But this is not same spain as we used to see last 10years.This spanish team is very beatable. If poland wont do it today, greece should be able to do it.If not Gasol ,its very average team,by their standarts of last 10 years.

55-55 after 3 quarters
Poland has survived the ussual Spanish pressure. It'll be interesting from psychological aspect now...

talking about psychology, what a TO by Mirotić

Spain looks awful. They have so many advantages and somehow they are able to waste most of them on offence.
On the other side of the court it is just ridiculous, every attack in which the Polish team was able to make 2 passes or slice the defence you starting to see holes. If Spain would have play against a top 8 team, they would have been -15 by now.
