I love when someone start to change subject. We were talking about Slovenia remember?
And about Uruguay - yes it is great football nation and they are very proud about it.

I didn't change the subject, which was - small nations constantly achieving a lot in particular sports. Thanks to Big L, who presented better example, than I initially picked.

P.S. myself being huge our NT fan - this year achievement is much more that I expected.

Could you tell me how many medals in hockey, football and basketball Slovenia has. Please. :)

they have medal in handball, football team qualified on several wc and ecs, tina maze best skier in the world, world medals in athletics, more olimpic medls than you... man slovenia is 10 times more succesfull in sport than lithuania.

I can't say nothing to our boys, we are a team with amazing talent but with huge limits in some fundamental parts of the game like interior defense and playmaking. But they played with great pride and desire to win, that's all you can ask for. At least we are back to fight against the giants of Europe like in the old good times.

Sorry but I have to disagree. At least 4thQ & OT I couldn't see pride nor desire to win.

I repeat myself.. we tried to get the refs from our side, by enhancing some contacts (I am not using the word 'flopping', but..) and this didnt' work out. Some non calls in the stretch were against us? maybe. surely. doesn't matter... but I see at some time our payers starting to play against the refs instead of fight the opponent.. they got nervous, misfocused, and this is something that you can't let pass from professional players, with such big goal still acheivable. This is not being proud. It's being selfish.

The "desire to win" have to keep your mind focus, go beyond single episodes, play each ball as if it was the last.. sorry but I didn't see that in the last 15'.

Again, I wan't to be clear, congrats to LTU since the win is fully deserved.. and with my comment I do not want to say refs helped LTU to win... but just that the attitude that our players showed last 15' of our EC is mirroring the bunch of egoes we are rather than the team we were supposed to be to overcome a proud LTU.

At the same time, I am not saying our EC is a failure.. IMO our goal was to get a pass for Rio... and we still are in the position to get it. We showed our strenght and our weaknesses.. so no surprises for me in our tournament so far. A little regret since I believe this LTU NT was beatable... and we didn't fully tryied.. that's it.

one pathetic gold medal in 2003 and nothing else.

Wow. Hatred really is eating your brain. Tell me how gold medal won defeating Serbia in 1/4, France 1/2 and Spain in the final is "pathetic". I'm already waiting for excuses.

...defeat against a Lithuania that will never enter pantheon of basketball.

You are a joke. We are in Top5 in the world for almost 2 decades combined and we will "never enter pantheon of basketball". Sure, in that case Netherlands will never enter pantheon of football.

And you are clown from it who thinks too well about himself. It's got borring very soon with you, so you are simply ingnored for some time now, but wishes wishes... Still waiting to be stalked? :)

You recognized yourself. that is so funny :D I was talking about usagre. Ah people never cease to entertain.

Sorry, don't have time for your excuses, for discussion about different popularity of different types of sport and about difference between team or individual sports (Jamaica case). Uruguay achievements in football are almost unbelievable when you calculate number of highest level players football team needs to their country population. It's not the place to learn you about demographic theories.

Man, fans like you are kind of why we are not liked on forums like this. You are one of those - "hell yeah, we won" when out NT wins, and "those sore losers" when they lose...
Honestly take a chill pill, you'll do yourself, not us, a favor.

my friend, how can anyone disagree with your analysis :)
seriously, i feel the same about last night's game

a pretty surprising and mildly shocking result indeed...
we lost plenty of elimination games to italians in the past (when out team was in full strength and the favorite to go all the way nonetheless), so to beat them with just one NBA player and a roster full of mediocre Euroleague level scrubs is really quite a nice achievement indeed. Once again it seems like defense or lack of it was the downfall of italians again - which should not be surprising anymore I guess. It was also predictable to see Bargnani not being able to slow down Big Val, which you have to do from the very beginning of the match, otherwise Raptors centre will just gain in confidence and easily post his 25 and 15 statline. All in all, being in TOP 4 is already and overachievent for this squad of workhorses, so any result from now on should be sufficient.

If you'll find my comment of that sort about our or some other team on this forum, i'll agree with you. If not when you are one more bsh. talking idiot.

We only lost an elimination game against Italy in 2004 Olympics, not sure what you mean by 'plenty'. That one was exceptionally painful, but still...

It seems that nowadays every thread related to Lithuania turns in to trash-fest in here, which is sad and embarrassing.

it seems like you're way too young to remember the 1999 elimination game, when we still had Sabonis and were huge favorites to win Gold that year...my point was that Italy is not a comfortable matchup for us and beating them always takes a lot of effort and even luck

(e.g. it seems like it was Spain whom we lost to in 1999...my bad again:D)

Lithuania played 8 times with Italy in eurobasket and all 8 games Lithuania won ...........=D

That was against Spain. We defeated Italy in group and later Italy won that EC.

Maybe you do us a favour and stop with these "idiots", "imbeciles", "clowns" stuff and etc? Enough is enough already

Why shoold I do you a favour? About selection of words - it depends. Yesterday on "hot emotions" i wrote few comments i'm happy were deleted. But today if someone writes total noncense blaming me with nonexisting charges I will answer that person what I think about him. Or if someone feigningly "politely" sends someone to some place it's ok and when that someone answers to that person straight is wrong? Better look in Serbia-Greece tread, it has much more "interesting" conversation, but moderators seems didn't care about it...

P.S. I can confess, my last reaction to CoachZ was a mistake, i should have ignore him. So i will finish that, but answer to lafa is what he was asking for.

I don't care what depends on what, what kind of words you're usualy use with your friends and if it's ok to you to call other person "straight" (like you say)an "idiot" or "imbecile" in your circles, if your opinions are different. But it won't be tolerated here, that's all you have to know. So it's better say - do yourself a favour and behave yourself
