Maciulis fought until the end and shouldered Lithuania to the QF. Will Italy's offensive game suffice for the semi, we will see.

Too bad if he doesn't play. I see Italy here as favorite. But psychological preparation is crucial. Italians didn't choke thus far, but the stakes are going up, and the Liths may indeed be more relaxed (as a slight underdog). If Bargnani plays, 60-40 for Ita imo

Lithuania must be more relaxed than we were before, our main goal is Olympic qualifiers, so now we'll have atleast 3 shots to get it

With Bargnani on court: Italy 55 - Lithuania 45

Without Bargnani: Italy 40 - Lithuania 60

Indeed Bargs is important. If he's out, Lithuania can expect huge impact from JV (if he's in his own skin contrary to today's game). If Bargs playing, Kazlauskas will be forced to limit JV's minutes for defensive reasons. However, that's about it, I don't think Bargs is such important. He's still crappy rebounder, lousy defender under the boards and you won't get much offence if his distant shots won't fall. The key will be - how Italians will be braking Lithuania's defence.

I predict an easy win for Italia.Bargani or no Bargani.Hell they almost beat them 2 years ago with no Bargnani,Gallinari or Hacket.

Almost? You hardly remember Lithuania played nearly perfect game. I'm not saying the game was easy, but at the end of the day Lithuania had a solid win with very solid performance. Italy might sweep Lithuania if their offence will go all the ways and so on. This Lithuania lacks offence so far (threes not falling) and generally (missing D-Mo, Kleiza, D. Lavrinovic, Pocius), but only if Italians will have an offensive party and I really doubt this happening...

Bargnani play good defense in this eurobasket!

against valnciunas bargnani and cusin are better than cusin and melli, this is obvious!

then bargnani can attack vaalnciunas on the other side of the floor!

Italy paint is a joke and Lithuania has 2 very dominant paint killers Valanciunas & Jankunas. Even Maciulis.

Italy is the most talented team in championship and I see them closer to the semis unless Lithuanian 3 dominate at the same time.

If Lithuania keeps up Italy's speed and tries lots of 3s, Italy can win easily.

If Bargnani does not play, Italy has more chance.

This is 50/50 clearly. If the threes start falling for Italy almost from the halfway line then we are screwed. What can we do. But if it doesn't we need to use our power advantage in the paint with our bigs. I saw to many Italian opponents not taking the opportunities that Italians present them with. And then the opponents are caught in this style of play and copy exactly the Italians with many missed stupid threes. And don't use their strengths. Plus Italy will face a very strategic type of team this time. This will not be a show for Italy. Simone Pianigiani will have some work to do.

Valanciunas against Cusin and Bargnani haven't a lot of phsical advantage IMO!

not even Jankunas against Gallinari or Melli!
