Nippon Hayabusa will be tested against this tough Qatari team.

Expect a shootout between this two teams.

This reminds me of FIBA Asia 2001 when Japan and Qatar met. Qatar won 74-65. Yuta Tabuse is the only active player from that Japanese team although the likes of Kazuya Hatano are still active in the domestic league but retired from the NT.

so that means for those playing this year, yuta tabuse has been in the seniors NT earlier than taulava, hontiveros, liu wei, and tien lei who were with their respective senior NTs in 2002 asian games. talk about longevity.

Expecting Japan to go Generation of Miracles mode in this game.

are we afraid of Qatar? just askin...

Not really, but I don't like our chances vs Qatar because they're a big, athletic bunch. At least we know already how to play Japan. Even if they summon their inner Generation of Miracles aura if we face them again, I still like our chances of beating Japan en route to the Finals as long as we are not complacent.

7-4 Japan. Not liking this, the AfriQataris are being physical on Joji.

point well taken. but, we're getting ahead of ourselves again here. me included. lol. let's beat the cedars first. :)

28-13 Japan. Furukawa doing a Mitsui for 11 points and 3-4 from 3.

46-32 Japan.

Qatar adjusted to the Japanese zone defense. They are now pounding the ball inside, but hot shooting by the Japanese kept Qatar at bay.

Nope. I just want to cheer for Japan because -> manga and anime, that's all.

Yuta Tabuse is the Kuroko guy...Joji is Akagi, Matsui is Mitsui..But they dont have an ace comparable to Rukawa yet.

heated moment between QAT and JPN....
