if he's a Serb, why he's not playing for Serbia? he was born and raised in Slovenia and he has slovenian citizenship, liked his parents. but you can think whatever you want, there's only 1 thing important tomorrow and that's for sure not what are the roots of slovenian players.;)

Sure, Randolph is Slovenian as well :D I doubt that he would know to find Slovenia on the map before he became your citizen :)

Lets stop this meaningless discussion, enjoy the weekend, we will continue following discussion on Sunday :)

I completely respect Dragic and Doncic decisions to play for Slovenia. They were born there, they went to basketball academies in Slovenia and thats why they should play for Slovenia. Randolf on the other hand... hm.... :p

Randolph falled asleep on the Slovenian beach in Summer as a kid. That explains his cool tan :D

It feels like some Serbians are laying the foundation of excuses just in case they lose. Randolph's presence on the team, Slovenian key players are actually Serbs. It really feels weak.

Seriously, what's with Serbians and claiming players all the time. Why do you guys care about this so much? How long does it last as well? 4th generation? 5th? Or is it if someone in your blood line was by chance born on a piece of land that was controlled by Serbia, he's automatically Serbian forever? Should Africa claim all the players in the world since humanity basically originated there?

Yeah Randolph is American, its a so-so rule from FIBA, but its in the rules. I guess we could go all nationalistic and lose in the 1/8 or make use of the rule that is available to everyone equally.

I'm just happy that the final is between two Ex-Yu teams.

it's very important that you respect a Slovenian's decision to play for Slovenia.I'm sure Dragic and Doncic will sleep safe and calm tonight after this important declaration.

What decisions? There were never any decisions. They're Slovenians and playing for Slovenia. Sasa Doncic(father) is Slovenian and he played for Slovenia too. And Randolph is more Slovenian, than Doncic and Dragic will ever be Serbs. ;)

I may have been misunderstood here. I respect them because they play for their own country and not switching sides (like Mirotic did to Montenegro).

No problem, I understood you differently.

I was really happy that Serbia beat Russia today, friends from Serbia please don't ruin me that feeling with total nonsense.;)

Congrats Serbians! Even if short of the frontcourt Italy and a bit opportunistic Russia wasn't the hardest way to get to the finals, I underestimated Serbia before the champ. They indeed have an impressive coherence and immanent reserves that makes this team sort of transcendant.

I personally dont give a fuck , but u cant change a fact that Doncic and Dragic are both born with Serbian origins.... Same thing is when i cant say that for example Davor Stefanek ,Serbian gold medallist from last olympic game have Serbian origins.. That guy is obviusly a Croat , but he is born and rased in Serbia and he feels Serbia as hes homeland, same with Dragic and Doncic, and both of them feels Slovenia as their homeland , nothing wrong with me... Also u cant change the fact that Drazen Petrovic was Serbian by hes father line, which was born in Trebinje ... gl in on sunday Slovenians ...

Drazen Petrovic, Goran Dragic all Serbians I guess who didn't identify themselves as such. If we keep adding great players to this list doesn't it eventually make it seem like there's a reason or something wrong with identifying ones self as a Serb ?
I don't get it. Why bring these guys up when they clearly didn't view themselves that way.

Can u understand a difference between that someone can have origins (parents) of Serbian nationality , and he is born and raised in for example France .. Perfect example is Nikola Karabatic , best handball player in the world in last 15-20 years ( maybe even more... + is that he is even born in Serbia, he was born in Nis ,southern part of Serbia ) ... and u want to say that he aint Serbian origins because he play a fucking handball for France national team????

Luka Doncic has of course some Serbian origins, but not only his mother is Slovenian but also his fathers mother was Slovenian too, his father and mother born in Slovenia like Luka, and they're both Slovenian like Luka. If that qualifies him to be a Serb then he's a Serb. But knowing history in the Balkan I'm pretty sure we can find some other origins in the blood line of many Serbs and Slovenians. I don't believe we want to go to that path.;)

No you can't, I agree with that. I think is just pathetic to point it out all the time, which Serbs do all the time no matter on what forum you are there will be one Serbian guy reminding us about that. Its pathological. Everyone has roots. Everyone is proud of that. Just stop with that crap. Dragic himself told in recent interview that he is proud of his Serbian roots (his father is Serbian) but he has ALWAYS felt Slovenian. END of DISCUSSION

I don't understand what the point is. If the guy rejects that part of his origin and doesn't identify with it by choosing to represent another country why try to incorporate him with others who have chosen to represent Serbia. And where does it end ? So Dragic has a son born and raised in Slovenia, is he Serbian too ?
His origins would be. Again I don't get it. You have to draw the line somewhere.
