It's pretty obvious from your posts that you don't have anything to do but to diss the performance of Smart Gilas win or lose. There is really no point in comparing Smart Gilas with Powerade because there is no more Powerade team Mr. PBA Apologist. Posts the merit notice is to say what this team can improve on after the game. Not to say that stuff like "kiss our olympic dreams goodbye." People like you are the ones who give up so easily and say that to :Think Big" is a waste of time. Thank goodness you don't have a hand forming this team kasi sa simula pa lang "Isip talunan ka na!" It's either that or you are a 'PBA or BAP pakawala." Say hi to your amo Mr. Graham non-Filipino Lim for us.":D:D:D:D

dude allow me just to skip this "conspiracy theory" babble you are insinuating and lets just go to the part where you make some kind of "sense";)

i only compared powerade to smart gilas to be able to provide facts that unless theres some changes on toroman and his love for this small ball style we might just kiss our olympic dreams goodbye! because as of these moment after more than 2 years of training smart gilas has not yet surpassed the level of the 9th placer powerade, and incase you didn't know yet you need atleast to be 3rd to qualify to the olympics.

now i hope if you reply to these post you can present some facts or proof instead of posting just pure rants and your wild imagination .

with that said i think we should the dream 2016 olympics instead...with the current development 2012 olympics is just too soon for that...:D

Oh giving up already? It's too early. But if you want to, we can't do anything. We'll just dream about that if they failed qualifying for 2012 Olympics. I will not give up on them till then.

Disappointed with this loss. We should have teams like CT and Japan as sure wins. Korea will be deadlier. Hope we make the adjustments.

Did Toroman already close his doors to replacing players get from uaap or ncaa? Because I don't see any replacements. Rey Guevarra was hired?

Rey Guevarra is already in the lineup.

Let's see. Who among the players in this year's UAAP or NCAA will make it? As far as I know, all the Asian-level players are already in the pool.

Well, Mike Silungan could have been an alternative, but looking at his assist/turnover numbers, no thanks. RR Garcia is good, but I have the feeling that he's the kind of player who needs the ball in his hands most of the time. I'd suggest Eric Salamat for his on-ball defense, but his numbers aren't stellar this season.

third or 2nd. here are the standings, currently fourth.

5-0 Iran NT (10pts)
4-1 Lebanon NT (9pts)
3-2 Japan NT (8pts)
3-2 Philippines NT (8pts)
2-3 Taiwan NT (7pts)
1-4 Taiwanese Univ. (6pts)
0-6 Australia-Crocs (6pts)

we must win tomorrow. 2nd, 3rd and 4th placers will be decided via Points scored/allowed.

god i hope we finish third. If we lose tomorrow we end up fourth. If we win, still uncertain.

ILABAS NA ANG LAHAT bukas!!!!

trans ; give it everything you've got GILAS!

Japan battles the Taiwan U All Star Team tomorrow, so they'll be 4-2..

We must win against Lebanon for a 3rd place spot. The worst is to place 4th (tied with Taipei)

But dude Dylan's only 6'3". Are you talking about the 4 position?

Nope, I was referring to Dylan as a player with the same skill set as Baracael. Take note that Dylan and Baracael have the same built and almost the same height.

Dylan actually played the 4 for UST last year, so adjusting to the position shouldn't be a problem. But I'd rather that he concentrate on sliding down to the 3 or 2, which are his normal positions and the ones most logical for his height. Ditto for Baracael, who, I said earlier, is a 3 being forced to play 4 on defense because of the lack of manpower.

Yeah but he has same dribbling problems with Marnel. :(

its not that im giving up, im still hopeful though...im with every Phil team all the way...but this time im not expecting too much from them...

This is where Ramos is missed. He is the most consistent player at the 4 spot. He's able to draw out defenders because of his sweet shooting touch and his defense is better compared to Baracael.

What's WILD IMAGINATION here is your incomprehensible comparison of POWERADE and GILAS teams. How can you exactly compare two different teams with two different systems and having different competitions only by looking at the results? Heck, Gilas haven't even played on the FIBA qualifiers which could be the best barometer we can have by comparing the results of the two teams on the competition that matters(although I believe that it's not accurate still)? Can we say that that pre-Dream Team college US players that won the Gold in the recent Olympics are better than the Olympic Bronze medalist Pros?

And again, warning to all, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM PERSONAL ATTACKS or else.

A win by our Smart Gilas, coupled with an obvious impending win by Japan NT will create a three way tie between RP, Japan, and Lebanon.

For us to be 2nd place, we need to beat Lebanon by greater than or equal to 16 points. This is quite far fetched.

If we cannot do this, then we must at least beat them by 8 points to land in 3rd.

In the event that we beat them by less than 8, Japan will be 2nd and Lebanon will be 3rd.

Especially Ramos's shotblocking. He might look rail-thin, but no question about it, the guy is tough as nails.

His ballhandling isn't exactly something to marvel at, though. The guy can score on spot-ups or post-ups, but all of our swingmen and bigs should learn how to dribble, or at least learn dribbling well enough to enable them to drive inside. The only one of our bigs that I've seen with that ability is Japeth, and even he is afraid to bang bodies.

I was about to point that out, sickcurtain_16. There is no such thing as ceteris paribus in international basketball. A team is only as good as its last game.

If only rabeh/balle was more utilized and given more minutes then little by little the problem on the pf position would be leesen...IMO what Gilas players need confidence boosters...i really dont know why toroman didnt give these guys ample minutes if to think this tournament some say has no bearing at all...

the program must continue. there's no turning back now. praktis and more praktis lang ang kelangan.

if this is the best we can do, there's no shame in trying and fighting hard every game.

kudos to our young NT players.

Hmmmm, according to nardy's observation during the vegas '09 trip, Ramos was actually making strong drives to the basket confidently. Don't know why we haven't seen that 'til now.

Maybe because in FEU, he isn't really expected to do that. He has Cawaling and Cervantes to do that for him. Of course, if you don't get to apply your skills in-game, it's the same as not having the skills in the first place.

Yes. I think Ballesteros would be fine playing PF along side with Douthit.
