2025 SEA Games

until those guys will get their neck hold by their college teams, they won't be always available, not even sure if they will be allowed to join in the first place
But i do feel its pba selection with gilas core its just tim doesnt want to add even 4-5 players to the team..with overseas players unavailable

QMB should be in the priority list of Coach Norman Black. We need his size and he needs to be tested.
Big IF….If he’s available. By then he will probably already signed an overseas contract considering he’s been classified as FIBA eligible. Japan and Korea will be drooling to sign him.

I hope that Al Panlilio will not block QMB's participation to the team. AP is insisting there is still no confirmation yet from FIBA.

If qmb team will be making this a legal battle..Oh my only for own iterests. Hopefully fiba confirmation will put this to rest.

I imagine the filo basketball commumity rioting if that happens. A lot of folks are already disappointed with the recent results. Sbp and long hair better be careful with their next steps.

What will block QMB is whatever contract he signs, be it in Europe or the BLeague if he gets out of his european commitment.

Sana wag politikahin yan si QMB now that he's eligible. Fans are no longer buying that 'familiarity with the system' bullshit excuses until a player turns 33 before receiving significant playing time now that you've lost twice against Taipei with washed up veterans like Newsome and Junemar. Seniority culture is the only thing keeping this team weak while the rest of the world advances and the next pba player leaves for a foreign league LOL

If QMB's going to play for Gilas this Nov, that will be the time he will be eligible for BLeague too.

Meaning, if he plays first for Gilas, him going to BLeague won't block him from playing for Gilas.

Seriously, I just want him to sign in BLeague over Europe. BLeague is shifting towards globalization anyway. I think they will be more open in 2026 season as it will also be the start of their draft.

If it's Euroleague, Why Not? Filipino players should try Euroleague first.. Going to the NBA is very hard

KBL is out of the question, they have a 6'6 height limit for their Asian imports, they even rigged Tamayo's barefoot height of 6'6 1/2 to 6'6 just so he can fit in the rules.

nope, KBL doesn't have a height limit for Asian quota, I asked this once to korean twitter blogger baekpd

My understanding is the requirement for Pinoy imports to play in KBL states that both their parents should be ethnically Filipino heritage regardless of citizenship i.e. Ethan Alvano, Calvin Epistola

Not a Fiba game but it could be the first time QMB will play for our national team along with Motor Mike, and Ange at the front court.

They'll use FIBA rules in this coming SEAG. After what happened in Cambodia, Thailand doesn't want to be outgunned by ineligibles.

Unless, of course, Motor Mike and Ange get an exemption before that.

10 years rule already applicable for Ange next year and Mike , it depends if he has good lawyer to expedite the process to Fiba since he really has Filipino blood and been playing for college basketball for 5 years and SEA games.

Historically, the Korean Basketball League (KBL) has had a rule allowing each team to have only two foreign players on its roster. In the past, the KBL also imposed height limits for these foreign players, with one player restricted to 200cm (approximately 6ft 6in) and the other to 186cm (roughly 6ft 1in). This rule was designed to level the playing field and promote the development of South Korean players. They're not imposing that rule anymore, but it looks they do it anyways, haven't heard of any teams in a hurry to hire anyone taller than Tamayo, who is listed as the tallest Asian import at 6'7.
