any info on Chris Vanlandingham in team USA? Is he related to Josh Vanlandingham of Meralco Bolts in the PBA?

Quincy Davis against Lee Jong-Hyun would have been a good experience for the latter. Davis is just the difference maker of this game.

This year's Jones Cup should have an asterisk because Taiwan intentionally didn't invite the Philippines. I guess that's what happens when you get sick and tired of losing to the same team every year, you just stop inviting them.

That's make very clear for this year's situation, everything is because of your army killed our fish-man.
Your government didn't do anything and plus add more insult to us, that's why our people so angry.
It's getting really sick of over confidence for some basketball fans, you people just don't know how serious for the situation between Taiwan and Philippine 2 months ago.
No body scare your basketball, but we are mad of your government's behavior.

if you taiwanese think that the situation is that serious and don't trust our government, why are you still coming over for the fiba asia? isn't it ironic? one of your people was killed by our coast guard but you still come over and put your life on our government's hand? nayyy..just accept that your government has become childish..diplomatic row was, is, and will always remain a diplomatic row..it has nothing to do with sports..as a token of our gratitude to your government, we might as well put on a Philippine Coast Guard shirt while watching the game..now that is serious situation..nayyy, we are not that childish as you..

hahaha... they think the situation is serious but they still want to come here in manila for fiba asia lolz :D

So your government decided to "punish" us by banning us from joining this year's Jones Cup? LOL Just admit that you cannot beat us in basketball, so you decided to ban our national team because it will hurt you so bad to see Gilas beat Taiwan in Taiwan ;)

Yes, Yoo Jae-Hak said after the game that even if Lee Jong-Hyun played, Quincy Davis would still get similar numbers. Lee was with the team for chemistry building. Yoo also said that not playing Lee was the right thing as he was protecting his recovery and come, FIBA Asia next month, Lee Jong-Hyun will be ready and recovered.

Your country sent your own investigating team, gathered evidence and testimonies. Our government cooperated and we even gave a confidential copy of a video by our coast guard to prove that they did the right thing and your fisherman has done a big mistake. After your own investigating team left our country no more demands and outcry, why ? because for sure your own investigating team find something that would prove your government over reacted and your fisherman is at fault. Know your facts well before posting.

Sorry for the OT. Going back to the topic. Congrats IRAN NT! See you in manila :)

This is a basketball place, if that's what you believe then I don't need to explain any more or that just waste everybody's time.
No matter what I said here, you still believe your government.
That's very normal, not your fault.
So see you at your house, good luck.

You think to much, we ban you because we try to save your life.
We will beat you at your house, we don't really need to do it at home.

Dont worry our government is not that childish to ban your team for the reason that we cant protect you and we cant ban you because its FIBA:)..How could a country protect millions of citizen if you cant protect a 15 man basketball squad..anyways im lookin forward for the philippines vs chinese taipei match up...chinese taipei is a more formidable team now that it has it share of a naturalized player...one of the games to look out for.

You are funny. Do you know why it resulted to such massive brouhaha? Because your president used this to earn attention because his ratings are a massive failure. Of course we will believe in the news here in our country because it is not controlled by the government. Actually most news stations here are anti government.
What confidence you have to beat us at our home when you cannot even beat us in your own soil. When was the last time or first time that your national team beat a Philippine national team?since the start to 2002? 2003-2006 we were banned. 2007, 2009 all filipino team beat the hell out of your crappy team. 2011 team banered by a bunch of amateurs plus a naturalized player also beat your team. What confidence you have? haha amazing.
ok then we'll see how your team will perform in our home.

*edited some that could cause childish bashing here and there. lolers
