2nd Asian Youth Games lineup

JP Cauilan
Isaac Go
Patrick Ramirez
Henri Subido

Coach: Nic Jorge

Isaac Go was the seldom used big man for the 2011 U16 team (6'6 2 years ago). Subido meanwhile is Zobelle's 5'9 starting point guard. All 4 players are eligible for next year's U18 team. Not very familiar with the other two though. Patrick Ramirez of UST was a jr nba representative while Cauilan is a bigman playing for NU.

Back from the Phil. It was great finally scrimmaging against the best local talent. At the end of the week, they all got to know each other quite well. It was great when Jozef and thirdy were doing their tomahawks and dunks during lulls. And Aaron taking vids of how Jozef moves and shoots the ball or how Renzo tries his best to stop Jozef one on one. All in the light of teaching each other. Glad to have had the opportunity to see them all together.

Alright to put things into perspective, Jozef is not eligible to play UAAP or USNCAA as a. he has played semi-pro ball in Brisbane and 2. he is already in his second year of Law School.

Aaron is developing just fine. His skill set is complete and he has a smart head on top of his shoulders. He is not likely to bang and force his way in like other players but rather uses his skills to go around defences. I would say he will end up more like a Willie Pearson than a Bobby Ray Parks. However, his skills are very handy internationally.

true. maybe he is just overshadowed by thirdy in the juniors. but its really true. there are some players who will not necessarily excel in their own respective leagues but does play great when playing internationally.

Thirdy gets more playing time with the eaglets than black because
thirdy plays a defensive 4 or even 5 then plays an offensive 2-4. Aaron plays 2-3 defensively and offensively.

I've saw Aaron Black practice with the Blue Eaglets last year. My observation is that Aaron is due for another growth spurt and needs to add weight and strength to make him more explosive. I also understand that a shoulder injury after last season has hindered his progress somewhat.

Bo Perasol did not go over board this past school year recruiting just any players because he knew that the 2014 senior class is loaded with wing players. Bo can have as many as 4 players from the same AHS freshman class in next years recruiting class for ADMU with at least 2 maybe 3 going straight to varsity. If Bo hits the recruiting home run, he can have as many as 5-6 former u-16 national team next year with a definite 2-3 in 2015 and 2 more in 2016. None of the players are Fil-something and majority are on the AHS roster this year.

Tito Thoots, what do you think of the twins?

the blue eaglets this year have a strong line-up, complete in most positions. I have observed them demolish lower tier uni level varsity teams. It will be strong for the next 3-4 years I would guess. The Nieto twins are doing well. The bulkier one is doing OK now but will be undersized to play 4-5 in Uni. He needs to start working to change his position to a 3 at most but if he has the opportunity to do that is another thing as the lack of big men underneath forces him to play down low.
