There's no clarification needed coming from the mods. I monitored and saw how the thread has degenerated into name-calling, bashing and nothing of significance to the thread title. What the mods have done is correct. And no, it's not an all boys club here. It's a lesson being taught for all posters (including you and me) how to argue points without the innuendoes being given out by certain members.

Heheh you have to be in the forum first..then if you have proved to belong here then you can express your idea..Foras are made for exchanges of IDEAS and opinion..

sounds like team made for FIBA Americas lol Not really the best in talent man for man. But hey look at the pistons the identity of the team would depend on this 5 mainly sana if all of them are healthy..
 
Clearly, there is a difference in opinion on why the Japeth saga thread was closed.....and it seems to me that the same people who were Japeth bashers are supportive of the closing of the thread.......is it because they got pikon???.......when they cannot justify or give a rationale to their point, they either go for boycotting the thread or in this case, closing the thread.....so much for exchanging points of views.

It's just unfortunate it got out of hand, I hope the new posters would respect the 'elders' and realize they have to pay their dues first. I am not taking sides but some posters can only be seen in that thread. OT last na

why don't you start a new one, part 2 of the saga? the thread's been too long anyway. i be glad to start it if you won't. i don't see the reason in closing the thread coz whats the use of the forum if we can't talk what we want, minus the personal attacks of course.

Needs intl competition to prove otherwise. Marcio has proven goodperformance both in the intl and local competition if healthy. Even better than Ryan in PBA comeptition..although Ryan PBA play isn't a pushover also.

It should be reopened by the mods. With the conditition that people can take crtiticisms. But obviously people cannot and go as far as create new accounts, so what's the point?

People here won't go down to his level and i respect the mods decision to do so.

There you go folks.......it all started with personal (and most often deragatory such as flip flop, no balls, etc) attacks from one poster .....he cant take his own heat, instead of getting out the kitchen, the kitchen was shut down.
 
I just wonder, Japeth has made some posters here go nuts. And now, the thread is closed :o

I can't figure out how this came about. Numbers don't count, popularity likewise. Good conduct does. Right manners do. Working within the topic should.

The thread was about Aguilar. It wasn't about DT, it wasn't about Boni, it wasn't about Aragon, it wasn't about Sakay, it wasn't about COJ. It was about Aguilar. When posts do not even cite Aguilar anymore in the discussion and instead focused more on bashing each other, then the appropriate thing to do is either: sanction the violating poster, or close the thread. Mods gave latitude to the members which is probably why they weren't penalized. But the thread has turned ugly - one, because there are members who refuse to accept criticism, two, because people have started name-calling each other, and three, because the argument evolved around personalities instead of issues.

Neither does it have to do with perceived biases. You have mods who look at topics and discussions better than anyone of us who became protagonists once upon a time in the thread. Whether the thread was closed or not wouldn't interest me. What is better said is that there are neutral personalities here who saw the thread not worthy of being continued. And I'll respect that, knowing that this decision came from people who have a better and more neutral vantage point than personalities who are for or against Aguilar.
 
is it really that big of a deal that the thread has been shut off? that someone is so affected by it?

it really all started when boni brought back the balls licking thing.. DT was peaceful and very much appreciative of what Japeth has become.. until boni brought that up again.. instead of moving on.. a clear sign that it is getting heated and personal and in no way the discussions are about japeth..

so there, rightfully so the thread IS NOT CLOSED.. but TEMPORARILY LOCKED..
