No plan of being an apologist for the moderators who have done well in handling the conversations in this forum. But there are certain things that have to be discerned as to why posts are "moderated." And discernment would only be done by people (like the mods) who can look at the discussion at a neutral perspective.
A new poster doesn't just come in and talk against another poster instead of the posts. Otherwise, you'll only be described as a chameleon, someone who takes an alter-nick just to get back at the said poster. On the other hand, "older" posters here like you, DT, and a host of others are given enough latitude to speak their mind simply because you have proven your behavior already. You earn that latitude from the mods. Newcomers need to do the same.
There's no clarification needed coming from the mods. I monitored and saw how the thread has degenerated into name-calling, bashing and nothing of significance to the thread title. What the mods have done is correct. And no, it's not an all boys club here. It's a lesson being taught for all posters (including you and me) how to argue points without the innuendoes being given out by certain members.
In other words, you have to be with the majority.
