just came from the big dome.....big crowd at hand.....well.....this is my take of petron vs global....Junel totally outclassed olsen in the coaching department....fielding the likes of yee, salvador even linganay showed his brilliance...and for the whole second half, Mercado was putting pressure on the petrons defense with his penetrations. Petrons defense was flat, they were outworked in the energy department. ...walang intensity! On the offensive side, they were tentative, mechanical and predictable. The patterns were few....and like i said sobrang predictable. They dumped the ball to the low post and everyone freezes. Ang bagal ng ball movement. I think with their talent, the worst thing to do is put then in a box. Structured masyado opensa nila. The only bright spot for them is their import. He is really good....no wasted movement and knows how to paced himself. lastly, Japeth played very well...for a team that has many new players..global played like a veteran team..credit goes to the coach. AS for ptron( im a fan), bad trip talaga.

Nice crowd at Araneta today. I wish this was the main venue for the Fiba Asia coz of the sounds made when you stomp on the wooden boards, it would make the opponents nervous lol. Most fans esp the SMC crowd stomp on the boards when their team is coming back.
That said, the potent Gary David-Sol Mercado tandem is fun to watch and with good showings by Aguilar and the jumping jack Justin Williams, Global Port won't be a push-over anymore as they just beat the Sinulog Cup champions.
Anyway long ways to go. 15gms for every team.
What i mainly remember from the Barako - San Mig game is that Coach Bong Ramos and Coach Rajko Toroman are equals. I mean they respect each other's knowledge from their body language.

He's a big kid still getting used with the physicality in the PBA, he has his share of hits in Cebu but now its a Man's game and they really let him feel the contact.

I do not know if there is such a rule regarding thrown out players coming back on the playing court. GP's import was supposed to be in the dugout as he was assessed with an F2. Is he allowed to come out of the dugout with the game still being played? He was supposed to banned on the court for the remaining of the game....

AKTV really ought to have Weekly Top Ten plays not Top 5.Too many good plays out there, what more in 1 week. I'd say Global Port's block party by the import and Japeth, Urbiztondo to import alley-oop dunk and Sol Mercado's ankle-breaker move were some of the best last night.

Japeth had an even better performance when he debuted for Talk 'N Text a couple of years ago. He followed up that game with a sub par game. I hope this time Japeth stays consistent all the way.

La Salle crushes Ateneo in straight sets in UAAP women's volleyball @ the SM MOA Arena which had an insane attendance of 19,638! Awesome! Grabe! Amazing! Womens Volleyball is very much alive in the Philippines.
Hype or no Hype, ABS-CBN Studio23 done a great job promoting the above game. What a Crowd! What's glaring is at the same time playing at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan was the First Games of the Championship series for the Juniors, Mens and Womens Volleyball of the NCAA plus at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum in Cubao is the PBA Game of Alaska vs Rain or Shine.
