Croatian NT

For those of us who didn't see the game, was it the whole team that played horrible or certain players?
I watched the entire first quarter and already after that I felt sick..
after that I turned to Serbia - Montenegro and the second and third quarter watched only sporadicly.. fourth one I watched entirely again..
team as a whole played horrible, but some players should have never been called in the first place.. like for example Stipčević, he is a lost case.. everytime he had a ball in his hands I wanted to puke..
team is disorganized, poor in attack and even poorer in defence. the fact that Cyprus managed to outrebound us is a shocker and it describes our game the best.
no ball movement at all in offence, when Cyprus was able to organize their defence we would just be jacking threes or shots from outside without even trying to put the ball down low to our bigs.. there were maybe one or two plays which were properly set in the entire game..
most of our points were easy layups after counter attacks..
in defence, in couple of occasions we looked like high school team (croatian high school team, not NCAA)..
if it was a serious team we were playing we would have lost the game. and I really mean it..

this looked even worse then Cibona when Repeša took over.. atleast in Cibona he brought El-Amin and Wright.. here he doesn't have that option and needs to set some team play with what he has.. this summer will be a perfect opportunity for him to see that some players aren't and will never be a NT material.
atleast not for a NT which is looking to go back to top spots anyway..
not to the medal holders though, I think we should all come back to reality and realize we don't have a talent for that.. not anymore..
the only thing that can maybe take us there is hard work, defence with bloody knees and well orchestrated team play..
the only good thing about this team is Repeša, if anyone can pull out the best from our basketball it is him..

btw. I don't know how many of you are watching and following other team sports..
but, if our waterpolo federation managed to make Ratko Rudić (the world's best coach) as their professional coach for 9 year now then we really need to wonder even if in basketball that is not a everyday thing to have a coach who is only a NT coach..

it was another painfull game to watch..
I don't know if I should cry more because the way we played or because we won with that kind of game..
if Repeša didn't beg Bogdanović to come back after he kicked him out because of lack of discipline I'm not sure we would qualify.. seriously..
even in a poor group like this one is..
I know team Ukraine is consisted of bigs and poor guards but Drozdov (SF) had 7 rebounds, same as our bigs..
we can't control rebounds even if our life depends on it..
being outrebounded 47-36 is showing serious lack of focus or serieous lack of quality.. and unfortunately I believe it is the second part of the sentence which is true..
God I hope Šarić will be in the team on friday, otherwise it will be pure waste of time and money going to Osijek for the Hungary game..

Dario Šarić become 100th player to play for Croatia:)

positive thing: Dario Šarić played his first 13 minutes for senior NT..
and he did rather good after he shrug off the pressure in the first couple of minutes..
6 points, 4 rebounds..

bad thing, Hungarians had 11 (ELEVEN) offensive rebounds..
we can't control the rebounds even if our life depends on it..
and everything should start from that, if Repeša won't be able to fix that we are in deep shit..

we are so lucky we are playing in the weakest of the qualifiying groups..
so no matter how bad we play we are still going to qualify..
no further comments needed

They are writeing in paper media Repesa will stay for sure in Malaga, while players are prepering some kind of boycot in shape that they will pay them self preparations so Danko Radic could not shit how good federation works and that players have evrything in preparations...It says players don't wannt Radic close to NT

LOL if it's truth

Sportske novosti write Marko Popovic won't play for NT

Seems like Planinič as well...

It could be rather intruiguing roster this time. Croatia probably will have to wait a little bit more for some things happening.

Planinic is oficaly out unfortunally, apologized to fans:rolleyes: on croatian federation site

Stipcevic is now sure in NT:mad:

no trip to Slovenia for me

Ramljak and Babić are out because of injuries..
Hezonja probably won't play for our U-19 team at WC because of injury which makes him doubtfull for the senior NT preparation..

PG Ukić, ?
SG Bogdanović, Simon
SF Tomas, Perić
PF Šarić, Rudež, Radošević
C Tomić, Žorić, ?

I'm guessing that will be Repeša's choice..
lack of proper PG will destroy us.. again..
Katić should have been invited for the preps atleast..
but it will be a nice trip to Slovenia nonetheless with no expectations..

hopefully not.. he brings us nothing..
but then again, if not him it will be Stipčević..
and the only things that hurts my eyes more then having an american player in our NT is having Stipčević in our NT..

It is than, not "then",sorry to be anal.
NO matter what,i would still prefer country born players to naturalised.
If you go down, you go down .Relying on foreign born player is much more painful

Repesa 15 names for preps

Doesn't seem bad at all, a bit too offensive orientated lineups for my taste, but if Repeša will do his job that can surely work much better than most people expect.
