It seems NU was able to "buy" everyone they wanted; everyone except Ravena. :p

Next on their shopping list is Jeron Teng.

they're just doing what ADMU, DLSU, FEU and SBC have been doing....

FEU buys players? All this time I thought they were just good at scouting.
Whatever the case, if they have the money to buy players they must also have the assets to "control" said players from "disappearing" in playoff matches.

Then you don't know RP college basketball that much..

How I wish college recruitment is like the US NCAA.. No money involved.. Just school credibility and school spirit.. UST would have a better chance at that..;)

not really... remember $1 = 43 pesos. everythings x43!!! :p

it takes money to travel and scout a player, talk to a player in their house, and schedule a workout with the coaching staff. this isn't a problem for big US NCAA Div 1 schools. the smaller schools will only be able to do that with players within their own state.

Adamson over UE, 80-71.
Ateneo over Lyceum, 92-77.
San Sebastian over La Salle, 88-81.

How to be eligible to play at home

How to be eligible to play at home

Hi All,
Been away from home for 14 years now and am not sure of the eligibility rules to play for UAAP/NCAA/National team/high school team. Can you just give me a quick rundown for my son who wants to play varsity back home. He is presently 14 years old and was born in New Zealand to Filipino parents. What pathway does he need to take to go by the new eligibility rules?

1. Fresh HS graduate from overseas:

UAAP = 2 year residency
NCAA = No residency

2. HS Tranferees from overseas:

UAAP = 2 year residency
NCAA = 1 year residency

3. College transferees from overseas:

UAAP = 2 year residency
NCAA = 1 year residency

SI Article on Ray Parks!

SI Article on Ray Parks!

Hey guys, check this new article of Ray Parks by Luke Winn of Si.com. He talks about Ray Parks confoundingly not playing in US NCAA Div-1 despite being a Top 150 recruit.

Here's the link:

After reading this, all I can say is it really is disappointing that he decided not to play in Georgia Tech. He would have been able to play as a freshman, or even start. Also, to spurn a top school and Div-1 program like that is just stupefying. And I also feel like he has a bad rep now amongst US schools for just leaving like that and not even giving Georgia Tech an explanation.

it would be better to bring the kid to a non-uaap/ncaa schools because the leagues have has a lenient eligibility rules. other leagues such CESAFI in cebu doesn't require any residency so he can play outright as long as he's enrolled in that school. then after highschool he can immediately go to an NCAA/UAAP school without having to undergo residency since he already had played high school ball in the philippines.
