so what do u guys think, if u could pick the players for an all-star game, of the best starting-5 of the last decade (2000-2010), against the 2nd best team of the decade..
who would u put there??
and who specificly was your best player of this era?
(and pls dont write down guys like pau gasol who played EL basketball maybe 2 years and didnt really have any effect)...

It´s gotta be someone from the three (CSKA, PAO, Maccabi) bigs. These three teams have been winning titles and played the Final Four almost the entire decade.

So it´s either Bodiroga (leader of Pao and Serbia), Papaloukas (brain of CSKA and Greece) or Saras (Lithuania, Maccabi).

After that comes Navarro and Diamantidis. These players are the best today, but their time isn´t quite done yet.

In any case, I go with Dejan Bodiroga. Won the Euroleague multiple times with Pao. Also won it with Barca. Not to mention winning the WC and EC with Serbia. A true legend.

I voted Bodiroga too but Anthony Parker is better than Saras & Papalukas. For me the ebst 2 players of the decade are Bodiroga and Parker

Bodiroga is my choice also.
Not the most athletic player but a bb genius.

In this short clip Bodiroga is giving bb lessons to Carmello Anthony

In my opinion, Bodiroga may be the genius, best, winner etc. of all times in Europe. However, the question concerns the period 00-10' and he has no effect after 03'. He is the guy of 95-05', indeed. So, I don't vote for him.

Bodiroga was a player of almost different basketball era - unathletic, slow and played the game in slow motion:D Not sure how he would fare in today's athletic fast paced game. My vote goes to Parker, as I think he was the most talented player of the bunch.

Dejan Bodiroga is the best player out of these but Šarūnas Jasikevičius is above everyone when it comes to achievements during that time period

You are wrong about Bodiroga, I think. He faced with lots of "talented" or "athletic" players/ teams/ bb styles. In the end he was the winner.

Bodiroga is a kind of player that belongs to all eras because he is full of pure bb fundamental and leadership and clutch and intelligence.... it goes on. You know the words about Larry Bird : he can't run,he can't jump,he is not fast but he is the best. Exactly the same applies to Dejan.

If you're looking for the best overall player of the decade, it has to be Anthony Parker. If you're looking for the biggest icons, then yeah, for most European fans that would be either Bodiroga or Saras.

Parker at his prime absolutely dominated the competition. The best athlete, great scorer, was an excellent defender and has sick stats and trophies to back it up. There was no-one who could guard him back then, and most importantly, he did it with unmatched class and flair. He was also one of the most loved and respected players throughout the league.

I feel privileged to have seen him play at his peek.

Anthony Parker, anyone still remember Maccabi's DreamTeam in 2003~2005?

PG : Sarunas Jasikevicius
SG : Derrick Sharp
SF : Anthony Parker
PF : Maceo Baston
C : Nikola Vujcic

Saras

Saras

If the question were ''before the decade'' the answer would be Bodiroga. But now Saras ofc. When a team wanted big success at Euroleague,Saras was immediately transferred to that team.He is a total winner.

The fact that he plays in your team don't mind

What load of crap! Go figure it out...

He would probably make them look foolish, just like he did "thirty" years ago...

Bodiroga, Diamantidis (Bodiroga's true successor:)), Parker, Šaras, JCN, Vujčić (I forgot someone 100%) are all there, it's just matter of personal opinion and favoritism. Just, please, don't spread wisdom like before-quoted Gurhan-of-the Fenerbahçe...

Bodiroga followed closely by Jasikevičius :)

Mi imamo svoga boga, on se zove Bodiroga :D.

I don't know if I said it correctly. I believe one of the guys from Greece here also used to have it as his signature.

I think Bodiroga is the biggest winner I've ever seen in Europe.
Saras also big leader and winner but my vote for Bodiroga.
